A Bit of news
first,ima add more roof deateal.
second,Ima search fo mo textures
third Ima start basing my tower more off real world towers. When I started I thought coming up with my own desighn would look original, but in trensformed into a bunch of plain boxes.
fourth Ima work on groing the skyline to the right and left, instead of into open land.

Tadaa! Ima goina havta doa alota stuffa.

Aleks Sep 18, 2007 11:04 PM

I think you need rounder buildings. I don't just mean make a circle and that's it but try making some complicated towers. They add flavor to your skyline and show you got skills on SU. But I didn't get and email. Maybe because I unchecked the "send updates to email" box.

Aleks Sep 22, 2007 2:30 AM

It's nice but I don't think I like the building with the round roof that much.

Wow, we really need to learn how to use Kerk.

Anyways, what's that pink and yellow thing between the small square tower on the corner and the tall tower in the middle right?

LOL, I don't like cold either but I think I'm getting one because my throat hurts and I've been sneezing a lot lately.

I do that too with the sections and then add them to my city. I like the blue square building in the last picture. What's it called?

what do yall think of the new history?
Orriginaly a wealthy port town from the beggining, the city was growing and prospering.but then,in 18745,A severe Earthquake brought the city to it knees. One of the largest quakes ever,it started fires, destroyes building, and even caused a small Tsunami which echoed around Montery bay. The city lay in ruins. Its populaition was cut by 2/3.

The city was doing poorly, and decling.but then,in 1857,gold was was struck, and the third gold rush was on.few believed it though, with the first two failing.so all gold rushers converged on the city, turning its economy around. a few lucky people made millions, and all got a few bucks selling what they found. the stone, Felix Stone was mined heavily, and sent to the city in return for money, the city thought the stone would contain gold, but few piecies did. Today, the extra stone can be seen used throught the city.
san Felix was now a desirable boomtown, attrcting more people over time
At the turn of the centry it was a powerful Californian Market and resort, remaining that way Till the 1970's,when it experienced yet another boom.By 1990 it had overworked itself, leaving a high Vacancy rate, severe fires and hundreds of homeless, resulting in crime. by 2000,most crime had moved to the San Yuck district, but the cities ecinomic crises continues to ravage the city.

Compared to

history, the city was small for a long time.As years passed the city watched two gold rushes wizz by while its neighborslike la and PD prospered. the city pop. ended up at 5,000 and declining.in 1850 the cities mayor tryed to hide his failure. he dropped all fire codes and made it illegal to bring them back. california and its weird laws agreed and made it a one city law.
the mayor distracted the citizens at a meeting and set fire to his city. he ran hoped in his boat and never came back.....

out of curiosity, which of these do you like most?
also,Fisher Print out fold up thing
http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...n5555/fish.jpg

Aleks Sep 23, 2007 5:35 AM

On the history post I like the first one better, but maybe you should tell it in sections over time rather than 100+ years in one post.

As for the foldout thingy, I like the first one better. You can tell what the building will look like, it's taller, and Blue. I like blue!!:D

Austin55 Sep 23, 2007 5:40 AM

:previous: the foldout thingy is one building, not three:P

you liked the earthquake history?

Aleks Sep 23, 2007 5:54 AM

mmm.. I'm confused!! I thought the fold out thingy was two different buildings?!!?!

Yes. The earthquake one. Just slow down a bit!!

Patrick Sep 23, 2007 7:33 AM

You do know 18745 hasnt happened yet ;)

To be realaistic your history dose echo the Los Angeles Economic Crisis, the story goes: LA built its tallest skyscrapers from the 1970's - 1992, by the mid 90's headquartered companies like First Interstate Bank and Secruity Pacific Bank has been absorbed into other companies which soon left the LA area for good.

So what did LA do? Downtown had been highly vacated, most of its skyscrapers has few tenants. So in the 2000's LA started building Condos! Unlike crazy Miami, the city did not overbuild, and now is doing well for itself, unlike Miami which is pushing for a recession.

So to put it in short Crime did not increase but instead decrease and finally hit an all time low in 2006. Of course keeping your current history is your choice :)

So I think you should put some Condo Towers, as if your city is in a recovering office crisis, then the only thing the city would be working on is improving itself and more condos.

Austin55 Sep 23, 2007 10:03 PM

:previous: condos would be nice, but theres a tweak in the history. Ill share more later.
In the new sectiontheres a
Conde Nast Based Tower
Harbor, oops,I forgot its name,Harbor place? in vancouver based tower
The cities first Stadium
Return of the overly huge WRC memorial.
and maybe a shoping district?
and more.

Aleks Sep 24, 2007 3:33 AM

A shopping district would be nice and so would a stadium. You need districts! Historic! Shopping! Downtown! Sports related district! etc.

I still have to add floors and paint you towers austin but don't worry I'll get it done before or on Tuesday!!

Austin55 Sep 24, 2007 11:42 PM

fixed the fold out thingo

are you making these fold out buildings ? gonna post pics one day?

Aleks Sep 25, 2007 3:01 AM

Ummm... I get the folding thingy a little bit more now!

Anyways, You should make more than one building per block so that the skyline looks filled in. Like that white building with the curve on the left corner of the city, it loos bad by it's self so it wouldbe nice to fill it in. The only time a building looks good with big open blocks is if it made to be the cities tallest, monumental, or if the base needs a lot of space for pools, gyms, malls, etc...

Other than that your city is great.

Austin55 Sep 26, 2007 3:25 AM

hey aleks, your tower is in the city,I wanted to see if you would notice. do you know which one it is?:sly:

Aleks Sep 26, 2007 3:40 AM

hmm... Hopefully it's the tallest one but if not them I think it's the blue one next to the black tower near the park. Am I right?

picaso plaza.A mixed use tower, the plaza include a small art museam, and a smal corparate tower. The main tower is hotel, residential, shoping, and office. It is known for its world famous spire, which is award winning.

James Tower.I have not yet released this building yet.it is 968 feet to its roof, and the final setback holds an outdoor ob deck. The James corp is one of the largest banking corps anywhere in the Pacific, beating out some asian Markets.

Thanks for reading!

Aleks Sep 30, 2007 8:15 PM

Really like Echo Elec. HQ. Man I wish I had a Playbox 4!!

The James Tower looks a little too much like the Bank of America in (Dallas? or Houston?). Were you inspired by that?

Dac150 Sep 30, 2007 8:15 PM

The building furthest to the right is my favorite. All are well designed. Good job!

Patrick Oct 1, 2007 6:29 AM

Aleks Oct 1, 2007 10:26 PM

The skyline is amazing but a little too bright. Maybe add some black North-East coast type of towers.

Austin55 Oct 1, 2007 11:46 PM

:previous: yes,Im working on that.

I revamping the entire city, souping it up big time.Dont expecta nay updates soon.

Bank of America Selling an Icon

george e,o-The Bank of America corp is selling its famous downtown Icon Tower. It says it wants to expand elsewhere. The tower is famous for it cathing fire in 1992,and nearly burning the whole tower. The tower will be purchased (or leased) to several small bussinesses throught SF.

Austin55 Oct 2, 2007 9:51 PM

Im still revamping, fixing up the skyline and making new textures.Even Echo has a new look:cool: some maybe some progress reports, but im not going to post much for a while.

Here are some individual paics

The Electric Towers look nice but it would be nice to get some far away shots so we can see them better.

Austin55 Oct 6, 2007 9:09 PM

Progress report.

Better or worse?

http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...lalalalala.jpg

Patrick Oct 6, 2007 9:47 PM

NICE! I love the balanced skyline!

Aleks Oct 6, 2007 9:54 PM

Yeah, the skyline is balanced out. Maybe add a tall tower or two between the Echo Tower and Picasso Plaza. Other than that it's nice.

Do you have a stadium in your city?

Austin55 Oct 6, 2007 10:12 PM

Im still working on it. It needs some fillers.tes, the city has a crappy little dome thats a sad excuse for a stadium. I havent imported it in yet. one of the electrics might have to go though, there overly huge.

Does anyone have a tower they would like to purchase for thier company? like Patricks Galcorp or Dacs TRI could buy(or build) a tower. Or maybe just get a logo. The cities is recoviring from its economy crises, and some new bussineses are moving in.

Dac150 Oct 6, 2007 10:33 PM

TRI has locations in 250 cities Worldwide, so make San Felix one of them.

Some Info about TRI:
-They have branches in: Shipping, Finances, Investments, and are exploring branches in oil and in banking. Soon to have locations in 300 cities worldwide.
-Biggest competitor is Galcorp being that both companies are conglomerates having companies in various industries.

You know what their logo is right?

Austin55 Oct 6, 2007 10:35 PM

may I choose the shipping divition?

would TRI like to buy or build?

Dac150 Oct 6, 2007 10:57 PM

-Yes, a branch of the shipping division can be located there.
-Buy.
-Do you need to know what the logo looks like?

Preferably downtown. Since it's only a division of the shipping branch, I would say only 40% of a highrise office building be leased out by TRI. Logo rights would be nice.:D
