VERY, very nice building. Lots of cool stuff going up in that city. A city almost no American's have heard of.

^Im sure NYC may well get a version - those wind turbines punctuating the facade are a revolutionary design that make these buildings carbon neutral, powering as well as cooling. So expect that kind of thing appearing everywhere soon :)

^^^ Gordon Gill, the chief architect for this project at SOM Chicago, has already designed a similar clean-energy tower for Chicago, albeit with his new firm, Smith & Gill (that would be Adrian Smith of the Burj Kalifa, also formerly with SOM Chicago).

fuck... these led's are starting to piss me off...
|
Don't go to China then, they have them everywhere.
I find that the LED's don't take nice pics, but if they are done right they look awesome in person! Also this building is amazing! |
quite honestly i think this is one of the most beautiful towers ever built but those LED lights look a lil tacky...

need documents for a case study on pearl river
hello everyone
i am a senior civil eng, neering student and preparing a case study paper on the pearl river tower for a course ı'm taking about tall buildings. i need to analyze the structural system of this building in detail and need some scaled structural plan drawings but i couln't find any over the internet or any books. there are non-scaled layout plans in the book "The architecture of Adrian Smith, SOM : toward a sustainable future" but it is better if i could find more accurate drawings. i managed to find information about the structural system in one paper from the website of ASCE and the SOM book and that's all. i appreciate any help you could provide me.. the photos from the construction site are very helpful by the way, thank you. looking forward to your answers :) |
Wow, what an impressive tower.
