House for Søgne, Norway.

This was supposed to be part of a competition from SSC. To design a house for a wooden area in Sogne, Norway. The competition seems to have died, but I kept on and my design is nearly finished.

Anyone who wants to see the original thread of the competition
http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1941843

so at first I did some previews of the terrain area
previews of the terrain area...

"So son, here we are. The area where we will build our new house, on that clearing at the end of the cobblestones road"
http://i.imgur.com/vNNG8Hd.jpg

"I already had some workers clearing the area. We will soon start to build."
http://i.imgur.com/Zwvgywc.jpg

"Dad, maybe we should chop down some of these pines to better enjoy the view."
http://i.imgur.com/C5eIcDA.jpg

"It´s close to the neighborhood but isolated enough in the middle of the woods so our nosy neighbors won´t bother as our family practices our ancestral art of viking nudism."

then I added the house I designed, still fast render previews, since I have not finished conforming the terrain to the house (or the inverse), landscaping, etc

I think the building blends in quite well. Maybe the front side should have more windows to "bring the nature in" and for residents to admire those views.. Speaking of the nature, it looks very well modeled and it seems that the flora is all 3D, not photoshopped. Is it so?

I followed your tip Vellu, regarding the windows of the front side.

what happened is that in the last image, north is the left (entrance of the garage). The sun rises south and east (behind the hill and trees). I had made most big windows facing south. But there are too many trees there, so it doesn´t make much of a difference.

the big living room windows are now facing west. There are also those skylights to get light into the bedrooms...

The detail is amazing! Do you have any interior renders? The living room especially looks like it is a very interesting space.

I'd love to purchase such a house in the Alps or in the Pyrenees if I could afford it.
That's my sweetest dream. I would leave Paris for the Alps...

I still have a bit of criticism here.

Not sure they need any bed that large (kids generally hate sleeping), but they do need room to store their piles of toys, like Lego, dolls and stuff.

well, thanks.

it's actually a teenager bedroom.

^ Hmhmhm, je sais... I saw it. There's a guitar, a student desk. There should be some dumb poster of her idealistic boys on the walls...

Whatever, she was once a kid, right? Give her some room.

when she was a kid, she had a single person bed, so there was plenty of room to spare :)

the bedroom is 16 square meters. With the bathroom, 28 sq meters in total.

:haha: Héhé, toi, t'abandonnes pas, hein ? T'es un têtu.

I don't even know how hard it's been to design that dream house.
It must have taken some time...

Yeah, leave it the way you like it. It would worth millions of euros here, believe it.
I like it. ;)

Trantor Jan 11, 2018 4:50 AM

millions of euros? Seems a bit exaggerated. Well... maybe also considering the prime real state location.

Hm, asshole... In the Alps, yes. That's what it's worth. Take a trip over there, you'll realize.

no need to call me asshole.

anyway, you answered my question. So it's not about the structure, but about the real state... the location. Building a house like that in a suburb of some secondary french city would not be so expensive, I guess.

Thanks for the interior renders, they look great! Especially the living room looks great with all those large windows and so much light coming in. There seems to be some window frames missing in the living room, but otherwise the detail is great and the quality of the renders is very good.
