SSP Comp: SSP-City Masterplan

Sorry for making you wait you guys! Here's the poll.

So I thought we'd have more entries, and since we only have 5, I decided we don't need a second round.

You get one vote this time so please think carefully. Also, remember that these might not be the final layouts since Mo will have to add or remove streets, etc. to make a scaled map. Land shape will remain the same, but some things might have to be changed.

i like 2, nice and unique, and looks cool...

Aleks Sep 26, 2010 9:35 PM

i agree... i'm having a hard time choosing between 2 and 3.

2 is nice and will give us a manhattan like city.

but number 3 would have an amazing historic district in that yellow area!

Innsertnamehere Sep 26, 2010 10:47 PM

looking at the ssc city, nobody likes doing historic areas, so it might be better to go with 2 if you worry about completing the city.

Flamesrule Sep 26, 2010 11:17 PM

All of them are fairly good.

Mocholate Sep 27, 2010 3:00 AM

Mine is not there :(

Aleks Sep 27, 2010 4:05 AM

sorry mo! weird, it's not in my inbox

can you please resend it. weird... i remember seeing it in a PM...

Tolbert Sep 27, 2010 4:32 AM

Those are all nice entries and i dont have a problem doing a historic district :) Is there any prise for the winner of the contes beside that his map is choosen ? Im mean something like doing the city hall or something :D

Mocholate Sep 27, 2010 9:08 AM

Eh doesn't matter, mine had a similar feel as no.3 does which is ahead on the poll anyway :)

I'll start a thread soon regarding requirements for building design etc. so we can get it all rockin and rollin.

Hey Mo, will you still be able to keep my other buildings that I entered before we did the map entries? And Mo, what happens if your making a building now. Can we still submit it to the city?

Looks great Toyota.

Mocholate Oct 4, 2010 2:33 AM

toyota74 that's fab.

Falmesrule - I'd like to use them although there are a fair few glitchy bits on your models, some faces are missing texture n stuff - point is don't rush - remember it's quality were after, not quantity.

Tolbert Oct 4, 2010 4:33 AM

toyota74, this looks just grate!!!.

Unfortunately i wont be able to enter a building on my own until next week because of university :yuck:

Here, do you want me to work on them some more and then I can give you a new link?

Flamesrule Oct 4, 2010 7:42 PM

whats next?

well since it's pretty obvious who won, what is the next step?

Also, I thought it was a pretty good turnout for entries and voters...could we push our luck and have another competition soon???

Aleks Oct 5, 2010 6:43 AM

yeah, we'll have another comp soon. I just recently fixed my computer (AGAIN!) because last time was a false alarm so I'll be active more often.

To everyone, I'll have some chats with Mo and we'll start a thread soon and set up a system to keep threads organized. It might take a few days you guys so hold on.

Meanwhile I'll also have a chat with the winner and see if we can start a new comp in the next few days.

Mocholate Oct 5, 2010 7:47 AM

How bout a name comp? City needs a name.

I've started developing the map - as usual it'll be a while until i have it ready to place buildings on but hopefully not too long.

Converse with me Aleks.

Toyota 74, I can't find your model on 3D Warehouse ? n yeah, normal practice with uploading them to the warehouse. Unless of course you want to keep the model private you could email it to me -> mcburgertron@yahoo.com.au

Mocholate Oct 5, 2010 8:46 AM

Here's where i'm up to. I'll keep updating the map development incase anyone has questions or ideas for stuff and things.

Forming terrain;

Road template (rough);
I've removed a few roads and simplified the grid a little in an effort to scale it all down a bit.
