Current Metro Vancouver Population
Does anyone know what the current Vancouver and metro Vancouver population is?
|
I think Vancouver is around 645,000 people with about 2.45 million in the metro. Growth in the metro has slowed considerably this year though. Most people are blaming housing costs as the reason.

Currently there is a thread on this subject started by Left Coaster entitled "Lower Mainland Population Thread" under the Urban Design/Heritage banner.
According to his chart based on BC Stats: Metro's pop. @ 2,374,628; Fraser Valley @ 284,623. So the combined Lower Mainland population is 2,659,623. Left Coaster did a wonderful job on a projection chart; check it out. |
Awe, that's a bit disappointing. I was hoping the CMA was a bit closer to 2.5 million. But I guess if we did it like the US did it... it would be the Vancouver-Abbotsford combined statistical area of 2.5 million.
So now I can sleep tonight. Haha! |
