From this past weekend:

I went over the original development plan for the Mission Valley Golf Course from 1987. The tallest structure planned was 250' tall. There was also a centerpiece tower, akin to the Seattle Space Needle, that they had wanted to place at the center of the development. There are no renderings, but it seemed interesting.
I hope the new plan has more housing. The city planning director, Mr. Fulton, sees Mission Valley as critical for absorbing much of the growth expected in the coming decades. Town N' Country, UT Headquarters, the golf course, Civita, and Hazard Center are all going to be incredibly important to our future housing stalk in the next couple decades. Expect a sea of 100-250' coming into the valley (hopefully). Side note on Civita, I went through their development plans as well. It seems 200' is the max for a few parts of their development project, on lots closer to Friars road. Also, none of this includes what might happen at Qualcomm... Plus the Mission Valley Community Plan is about to start the update process (2-3 year endeavor), so there is going to be a lot of fun stuff happening in the valley. |

Bosa hasn't broken ground on his tower yet. I'm pretty sure that will take place next month. 15th and Island is huge! I haven't been downtown for a while but I need to go down soon to check out all of the projects.

It's on the other side of the border but here is an article on Baja's convention center and future plans down there. Maybe we could see some high rises come into the mix. http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2014/...na-urban-land/

Other projects I know of are:
- North Embarcadero Visionary Plan (taking waaaaay too long to finish that) - Fat City/China Camp hotel is U/C - Coral by Cohn Restaurant Group (next to C Level/Island Prime on Harbor Island) is U/C according to the C Level/Island Prime website - Horton Plaza Park |
Here is an article on new office space in San Diego. It mentions La Jolla Commons three may also contain a hotel component! Also, they mention IDEA1 which they say has 100,000 sq. feet of office which is larger than the 65,000 sq ft version in the current plans we've seen. http://www.sddt.com/news/article.cfm...+major+changes

I assumed this would happen, but I hadn't heard anything about it until now. I guess they're replacing that dingy old Bay Cafe as part of Phase 1 of the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan:
