Estimates conclude that the top of the corebox has breached the 300m mark - giving Australia its first supertall.

Myeah, spires. Floors above 300m matter more. :)

whoa... looks very nice!

This wonderful city is criminally underrated and overlooked.
NYC should've received it's architectural uniqueness with open arms at least half a decade ago. |
excuse the crappy iphone photo but just took this from my building's rooftop.
Kinds blends in... a lot. https://i.imgur.com/zg4jhmM.jpg |
Not far off now - 99 now visible outside core box.

I've never seen that shot of the Melbourne skyline from the water. Amazing! I think i count 20 cranes.

Too much glass. City looks dystopian. Not a fan of it but good for the locals I suppose.

This thing looks hideous, butt ugly. I don't think even Las Vegas would build something so tacky.
|
Well, design and materials surely don't match those of a couple of similar things in Manhattan (yet), but the purpose of the building still feels amazing to me. It is residential!
These projects already implemented will certainly allow them to go higher and higher-end, just like they've been doing in NYC. I wish we did the same here in Paris. Quote:
Build the very same in Hong Kong, NYC or London, they would sell apartments 30 times that much, because these markets are derailed. Ours here is pretty much as insane due to NIMBYism to crush/avoid any serious competition locally, to artificially keep prices very high. I can't tell how much I find it nasty and stupid when I see what they've been doing over there. Good job in that matter, Australia. |

Hopefully the very distracting and ugly "MULTIPLEX" signage is only temporary. |
^ it's just advertising for the builder whilst it's under construction, it'll be gone upon total completion (mid 2020).
|
I don't think I'd mind this tower - I might even like it - if it wasn't for that hideous growth extending from the middle of the building, completely breaking up whatever grace it hoped to achieve with it's undulations.
What were they thinking? Just because you CAN build it doesn't mean you SHOULD... |
Is it a great design? No but it doesn't have to be. It's tall, unique and gives the Melbourne skyline a boost of frivolity.. Kudos!
