Great photography. Saved the grit for the last shot.

Waterlooson Jun 3, 2007 4:22 AM

That was so good, I think now you should do a thread on Waterloo. ;)

.... and don't forget both universities.

OhioGuy Jun 3, 2007 12:13 PM

Quality photos there! I spent four days in Kitchener 5.5 years ago and had a good time there. :)

Jularc Jun 3, 2007 1:15 PM

Hah, I never seen Kitchener before. Cool.

boden Jun 3, 2007 1:50 PM

Never actually been downtown, so I enjoyed your thread.

i'm not sure how i feel about the TD steps domey dealie building.

kaufman lofts, sweet building.

Cambridgite Jun 3, 2007 6:57 PM

Nice pics man!
I have a bunch of photos too! Your's are good, but I have a bunch of pics ranging all around the downtown core, surrounding neighborhoods, Uptown Waterloo, and downtown Galt and Preston. I still need to cover Hespeler. I'm essentially creating a Waterloo Region thread. How do you post up pictures like that?
Nice work!

Wheelingman04 Jun 4, 2007 3:07 AM

It is nice to see some of the smaller cities on here.

You mean the "Dolly Parton" building :)
Thats the real nickname of that building by the locals, because the domes look like her breasts.

BnaBreaker Jun 4, 2007 2:15 PM

Good lookin city!

rapid_business Jun 4, 2007 2:25 PM

As a future KW-ite.....-ian? It warms my heart to see some great pictures like this.

Dolly must be laying on her back then - as in "islands in the stream".

Thank you Captain Obvious miketoronto...

Excellent photos Flar, prolly the best ever posted of Kitchener on SSP.

I intend to. I would've done it at the same time as Kitchener but it was too bright and sunny that day.

The stepped building with the domes is striking when you first see it, but funny looking from some angles. The Kaufman Lofts are awesome

LMich Jun 5, 2007 2:13 AM

It looks very 'Great Lakes' like cities you'd find in Michigan or Ohio. Because of that, it looks very familiar, to me.

Blitz Jun 5, 2007 2:42 AM

^ True, but what you didn't see were all the hideous concrete slabs in Kitchener...that sucks any Midwestern-ness right out of it.

I agree this is one of the better Kitchener tours I've seen too, very nice job!

Hozay Jun 6, 2007 2:01 PM

Thanks for the tour of one of the lesser known cities in Canada.
