Vancouver put a tax on unused private properties. It's called the Empty Homes Tax. It's only 1% of the property’s 2018 assessed taxable value but it's a start.

This tower's interior spaces are way too beautiful to go unused.

I think we have to look at the type of tenants that will occupy this tower. Billionares or very wealthy multi-millionaires. Some on the go, with multiple homes, because their work requires them to be in various locations. But assuming the tenants are NY based, who knows. Some probally have multiple pads. The creme de la creme of tenants. Could be their summer home for all we know.

Officially at 1257 feet. The final floor. Now all that remains is the cap. Still curious how and when the 800 ton Mass Tuned Damper gets installed. Its the largest one ever created.

Pic by me. Taken today.

Super, super thin from NJ. My theory is that the dog is sticking his tongue out because he don't like dem skinny, he likes them phat and plump, like One Vandy, that has some chops on her and in the right spots.

And Chris agrees with the dog!

I hadn’t heard this 800ton figure before. Are they actually installing something with the weight of 400 cars atop this tower? Is it water or concrete?

Buffalo’s stamp on New York City’s “Billionaire’s Row” is stunning. Terra cotta from Boston Valley Terra Cotta is being installed on JDS Development Group and Spruce Capital Partners; residential tower at 111 West 57th Street. The 91 floor, 1,428-foot tower overlooks Central Park and features just 46 condominiums, all either full-floor residences or duplexes. An additional 14 units are being created inside the existing Steinway Building.

Prices on the residential units start at $18 million and top at $57 million for a penthouse on the 72nd floor with four bedrooms, five baths, and 7,128 sq.ft. of living space. Sellout is expected to be $1.45 billion. Construction is expected to be finished by year’s end and the tower will join other luxury residential skyscrapers in the neighborhood including 432 Park Avenue, One57, Central Park Tower, and 220 Central Park South where a three-level penthouse recently went into contract for $246 million.

Boston Valley Terra Cotta is being used in new construction and restoration projects worldwide. Notable recent and current installations in New York City include the Woolworth Building, the Fitzroy, 10 Bond Street, One Vanderbilt, Brooklyn’s Dime Building, and 222 Central Park South.
