I really like the New Rochelle has seen its development potential, much like White Plains.
|
I'm a fan of the unit count and duel tower design. Similar to the Church-Division duel tower project.

Here's a higher-res rendering. Not a full one, however.. but you get the idea.

New Rochelle is arguably outbuilding White Plains, Stamford and New Brunswick right now. Impressive.

New Rochelle is an interesting case where the Nimby is sidelined and the Yimby is champion. My brother-in-law and some other people I know live up there (they all attend the infamous Covid Temple, lol) in large single family homes, but they all support the densification of what they call the "arts district", and bringing in a broad economic mix to what is mostly a very wealthy town. They want to attract artists and craftsmen, and also have nice condo spaces for the large home owners to retire to instead of heading off to Florida. I think it was 2015 when they passed new zoning and an outline of their mission, and so far its been on track to accomplish the goals.
It's refreshing to see a wealthy nyc suburb embrace its inner bohemian, everytime we get up there it looks better and better. |

Located at 10 Lecount Place, the property was developed in partnership by LMXD and Wilder Balter Partners, Inc. with design by Beyer Blinder Belle. Stella’s 308 units range from studios up to two-bedroom floor plans and are accompanied by a lush assortment of amenities including an outdoor roof deck with a pool, barbecue grills, dining tables, and lounge chairs. There’s also a rooftop bar and lounge with a widescreen television and a pool table, a chef demonstration kitchen, a garden room for a respite in nature, a children’s playroom, a pet spa and designated play area, and a 3,000-square-foot fitness center. Additional services include a co-working lounge, bicycle storage, an on-site covered parking garage, and a lobby-level coffee shop. So far, more than 80 percent of apartments at Stella have been leased. Rent for the remaining studios are priced at $2,206. The most premium unit, a two-bedroom penthouse is available for $4,283. “We are proud to be representing Stella as it continues its strong leasing velocity in the hot New Rochelle marketplace,” said Jackie Urgo, president of The Marketing Directors, the exclusive leasing and marketing firm of the property. “With unmatched amenities and views of both the Sound and Manhattan, Stella is an unbeatable property that offers much enjoyment for its lucky residents.”[/QUOTE ========================= NYY |
