You'd expect better since this is a trade publication.

^ "bullet cars" ??? :haha:

Honestly though, I'm not sure I'd consider that a trade publication. IRJ is a trade paper. Railway Age a trade paper. Even though its enthusiast targeted I would even consider Trains more of a trade publication.

E & E News is owned by Politico. Apparently, technical terminology is not their strong suite.

I generally do not like editorials or propaganda news articles.
But I did take the time to read it, and there was very little wrong with it.
It was not trying to be an engineering report or environmental impact study. It reported the facts Amtrak's NEC faces.
While reporting on the negative facts, it was suggesting more political support will be needed to improve the NEC, not just fix it.

London to points east on public transit. How far in 24 hours

Interesting you tube video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQYCtHln9w0
Note how many transfers were needed to go as far as Warsaw.
FYI, London to Warsaw is highway ???? kilometers.
1645 km or 1022 miles
Some math follows: 1023 / 24 = 42.67 mph average.
And that was using Eurostar from London to Brussels, and then ICE to Cologne.

You try driving from London to Warsaw and see how long it takes :)
