They've also done an excellent job completely re-leasing the building from top to bottom in the wake of Cozen's departure. They convinced IBX to consolidate several suburban offices into multiple floors in the building, pulled Pennoni from their west philly offices, and have a WeWork on the entire top floor. Those are all long-term leases, so this building isn't going anywhere, I assure you.

Do you know if this building would support an additional 10 floors?

No idea, but there are several things precluding that from happening: the certain strength of opposition from the enormous William Penn House next door (which, if I'm not mistaken, is responsible for the short height of the existing 1900 Market), and the fact that for Brandywine this is a well-leased, income-producing property at a time when they're tying to get Schuylkill Yards, 2100 Market, and other projects off the ground. I just don't see making any substantive changes to 1900 as a priority. I'm actually surprised they're even concerned with moving forward with a facade redo, unless it was somehow promised to some of the new tenants.

Is the re-cladding happening or not for 1900 Market? I thought Philly Nasdaq was still located there with substantial sq ft lease, no?

dont think any of us know if the exterior work is going forward. All we have are renderings on the architect's website.

Agreed. And since they also have this (http://tantilloarchitecture.com/port...t/2400-market/) on the site for 2400 Market St. when we know it is becoming the Aramark headquarters, I would not put too much faith in those renderings.

I thought the Philly NASDAQ was moving to the FMC tower. At least that's what a friend of mine who works there said. And also this Philly.com article: http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/i...-its-home.html

Thank you. You are right. I remembered seeing that article. It just slipped my mind.

Apparently they've done some concept work for some kind of connector between Comcast Center and the plaza around Three Logan.

All images from Tantillo Architecture.

Honestly, this looks AMAZING! I'm not too crazy about the idea of skywalks in Center City (especially since the concept looks pretty bland), but the atrium of the connector looks purely badass!

Actually looks like it would replace Wawa? at least the first version.

They are not concerned with a facade redo. This is an old, and most likely dead or significantly delayed, proposal.

Wawa is in the building to the right. It isn't going anywhere.

Does anyone have any insight into why this would happen? Comcast has office space in the Bell Atlantic Tower, but that's not their building and could easily change in the future (although I doubt it will anytime soon). It would make a lot more sense if this was happening with the CTC, even though I think it would be ugly and they are already connected underground.

It does look cool, I just don't understand the logic of why.

The first thing that came to my mind when seeing these, is how similar they look to the "modern" townhomes in Society Hill. If the developer is deadset on using red brick, I think this design works well, personally.

Yea because empty lots on west Market Street never sit empty for years (rolling my eyes...)
