Saw this over on SSC. Looks like JC is going to get another decent sized tower |

The thread title should be cleaned up!
JERSEY CITY | 99 Hudson St | FT | FLOORS Anyways, this will be an entertaining development to follow! :D |

Supposedly this will be among the tallest towers in NJ.
If it's a single tower with 1.1 million ft., you're probably talking at least 700 ft. The site isn't that big, so the building will have to go high. |

There was an article in wikipedia about the former project on this site, the article has been erased but it still can be read the first part when you click the button at Google Earth, it said that the project was going to be 637 ft / 194 m. but only 37 floors???
Anyway, I think that the most possible scenario is that they make it a double tower project (twins or not) as in the similar residential complexes one and three blocks to the south. A double tower is more feasible for this block, since it is large enough to support them and can be constructed by phases, facilitating the financiation vs a larger, more expensive, single tower. http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/70/gp78.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us |

possible new tallest for JC?
|
I found this website which features 99 Hudson. If this is what is proposed, it looks great. It does show two towers not one single tower.
|
These are listed by the developer as twin 60-floor towers.
How many 50+ floor towers are planned or u/c in Jersey City? There must be like 20-30 towers by this point. |
There's some nice models/renders on that page.

More great news for Jersey City! The second I read 1000 apartments, I knew this would be a twin (or more) tower development. Over 60 floors each is still a respectable height. The design is nice. Jersey City is very pro-development so the only reason we're not going taller is largely due to perceived market demand by the developer. Let's see some of these get built and leased up, which will encourage even bolder proposals.

Good news as anytime the Chinese get involved, stuff gets done! They have a pretty good reputation this particular developer.

Looks like JC will top 1000 feet before BK or Queens.
IMO this project would look better if the towers weren't the exact same height (and color). Make one 1001 feet and a couple of shades darker. But then... I have no idea what is possible to build there with regards to zoning or what would be profitable for the developer. |
^^^^
That plan has been discarded. So no more two towers. Right now, we just have data for the height and a redesign is in order. Also, this may not be the tallest for long. Theres also that Casino project which the mayor wants to happen and is involved in it. That could top the 300m mark and its a very real possibility. |
Doh!
I read it too fast and too sloppily. Going from two 600+ towers to a 950 one... I wonder what changed in the market to drive that change. A casino, great idea. It sure helped Atlantic City. |
Wow, didn't see this coming. A ~90 storey, 950 ft buikding for Jersey City. I'm surprised this is not a two tower development anymore.
