Speechless. I apologize. I truly am at a loss for more words.

That close up photo of the very top steel framing....damnation, and thank you for posting!

WOW!!! Those are some choice photos!!!! You can see just how insane this tower has been on the current skyline, and what it'll do to the future one! Looks like some cabling is being ran throughout the frame that'll most likely aid in the crown's lighting! Like... next week, I plan to finally see all these new supertalls in person and it's gonna blow me away!

Favorite NYC Tower

NYguy,
This is by FAR my favorite building in NYC. The detail is absolutely fantastic! There is no other building in North America that even comes close. And on this particular aesthetic, I can confidently say, "the world". Classic American architecture. Thanks for the amazing constant photos as it builds out!!!

So how do elevators work in these buildings. How hard would it be to get to the bottom from the top floors? Or how long would it take? Do you have to wait forever for an elevator to show up? Do you have to take multiple elevators on the way down? Do you have to wait for the elevator to stop and pick people up and drop them off?

pico44 Nov 19, 2019 4:45 PM

Yeah this thing is masterpiece. It's a combination of engineering and design that we'll be lucky to ever see again. Of course, Verre might be just as good.

I'm mean, look at this pic...

The past twenty years have been very good ones for New York architecture. Perhaps even better than 1909-1929.

Very, very good. And what it doesn't surpass in architecture, it most certainly passes in scope.

It's one of my favorites as well, and I think in time will be recognized as one of the special towers, the way Chrysler came to be.

Camstonisland Nov 20, 2019 6:33 PM

This building is absolutely gorgeous.

I was scrolling through this page thinking 'it's almost complete, why are you posting promo renderings', only to notice some scaffolding, and realize that this is indeed as shimmering and pristine as what was promised, if not more!

While I disagree with the reason and methods for which these skinny towers are being built, we at least got one absolutely stunning gem of a building.

One of the coolest skyscrapers ever built.

BoM Trespasser Nov 21, 2019 1:47 AM

I love the fins and the spiky diagonal corner finishing pieces of terra cotta on the south facade. Best seen on #14.
