The word you're looking for is cheap, the boxy version is much cheaper. Not a bad building, but not a good building makes a mediocre building. A 1550ft mediocre building. This is the Kwame Brown of tall buildings.

Put it this way, it's not a building that should be higher on the Midtown skyline than anything else. Where is Amanda Burden when you need her?

Exactly.

The real crime is that Tower Verre should have been 1550' with this design limited to 1050'

I think this one will come out to impress even those who hold little regard to its design. The sheer height alone with make it a piece to behold.

Made it past another set of mechanical floors, meaning we should start to see some of the setbacks soon.

Also I didn't realize until today this cladding was being put up. Honestly looks kinda cheap but considering I didn't even notice this wall in any of the renderings or photos up until today who really cares

I noticed it last week. I'm guessing it will be revealed to be the same as the facade.

You can see the beginnings here (towards the 57th St side)

Are they at a transfer floor? I could be wrong, but using 220 CPS for a gauge, the height has been the same for 3-4 weeks...

I was never a fan of that cantilever.

The logo we designed and built for Central Park Tower, a midtown supertall, has finally been unveiled and we think that it was well worth the wait!
We also created matching planters to accentuate this posh entry.

^^ I’m not trying to start another debate here, but that logo would look better with a spire :(

Seems stalled out in the vertical. I'd say maybe one floor in the last month, if that.

I think as far as short term excitement, I am looking forward to this reaching the top of 220 CPS so we have confirmation we are are at 1000 feet with this tower.
