“Now hiring.”
Not for long I hope. :D |

And Kabobzi on Burnet Rd. |
I like it. It'll complement the Hanover tower under construction. It's almost a mirror image of that tower with a few minor differences. This 80-82 East has black exterior outlining at the top with white linings elsewhere whereas Hanover has white outlining at the top and grey linings elsewhere. I think they're both around the same height. I like it even though I generally don't like blue buildings. But this one is nice and sleek, just like both of the proposed Hanover towers in downtown Austin.

Man, this one came outta nowhere. I'm glad something's replacing that eyesore though.
Now if only they would fix the eyesore that is that Homewood Suites parking garage. |
That lobby would look so nice against a sunken 35 with a cap park.
|
Like for real can they paint a cool mural or something on that freaking parking garage.

This is an awesome new development! When is it expected to break ground?

The site plan was filed. It's referred to as "The East Tower." I first thought this might be one of the Railyard Condo towers, but this wiill do.

No major news, but there is a new name: 84 East. Here's the website:

I COMPLETELY forgot about this one. Even though it’s pretty much a carbon copy of Hanover Republic Square, I’m happy to have both of them in Austin.
On that block it’ll be the tallest building by far fronting I-35. |
Is Hanover developing this tower? The architectural similarity to this tower with the Hanover downtown and other Hanover towers around the state is unmistakable.

I though this was going to be 100% condo. But I didn't catch this when I last checked out the website:

I was hoping for another 500 footer with this one. But it's 446'. The same height as 300 Colorado (Parsley HQ).

So they can render Natiivo but not The Quincy? Heh

Hanover Republic Square, Version III? I do like this design but it's becoming the Vancouver point tower of Austin.
|
Ironic that the parking podium is as tall as the Millenium Rainey (or whatever it's called) in its entirety. SUCH A MISSED OPPORTUNITY.

Another ⌘ Cmd+C Tower :P:haha:Glad about the height tho

What's funny is that I actually think Millenium Rainey is the missed opportunity -- so low for such an important corner!
That said, Hanover^3 isn't doing much for itself in the podium department either. |

It costs money to add renderings. So, I'm not shocked that Pearlstone did not elect to pay for a rendering of a building that is not apart of their portfolio. |
|
Have we seen a demo permit? They've gotta get rid of the Phoenician to move forward.
|
Not sure if any permits have been filed but 3 days ago the restaurant said they permanently closed their Rainey location: https://goo.gl/maps/8WxwuAXFwEMoghuo6

Here's a packet of info for next week's DC meeting and a few of the renderings.

The stacking plan with that lists it as 455 feet. It's still 41 floors.
|
Here's a new rendering of the tower from the DC presentation. The updates are very subtle.

Like the colors on this one. Surprised it's still kicking after months of radio silence in COVID times.

Parking garage cover looks kinda like Nativo's. Not very nice looking but at least it's not as bad as the Independent.
|
Austin-based McCray & Co. (https://www.mccray-co.com/) is handling the finish outs for the units, and the lobby/amenity design.
Ya'll might recognize them from any of the Ramen Tatsu-ya restaurants, and a bunch of others around town. |
