Both.

I like how they left out all the other supertalls being built right now, to make this tower seem more prominent.

Looks like its slightly twisting as it rises in the rendering due to the gradations of terracotta. Like a wine bottle opener barely turned.

The crown appears as if its a waterfall flowing with golden water in droplet form. Similar to a shower head.

The best tower architecturally rising on the planet, you heard it here and now.

To be fair, it's an old render, and I'm not sure renders of the other towers were out at the time.

I'm looking forward to seeing that, it's been talked about, but we'll see how it turns out.

Kinda looks like Verre from that angle. :D

That answers my question from a bit further back in the thread, then, donnit? ;)

those fuzzy b&w renders of 111's stepped profile
(posted Dec 19 by NYguy, just above) . .
give the most reassuring depiction of this building's architectural concept,
that I've seen yet . . this is 111's most flattering aspect . .

I love the lighting on the crown (has a dramatic sparkle to it).
Hopefully they complete it this way, as I don't think I have ever seen one 57 ever lit up.

It's gonna block out about 90% of CitySpire from that angle.....

......but really hard compromises do have to be made from time to time.

And this is definitely one of those times.

These people don't know what's rising up behind them, and don't care. Give it another year or so, and they'll notice.
