From this past weekend:

It's even taller now.

I went over the original development plan for the Mission Valley Golf Course from 1987. The tallest structure planned was 250' tall. There was also a centerpiece tower, akin to the Seattle Space Needle, that they had wanted to place at the center of the development. There are no renderings, but it seemed interesting.

I hope the new plan has more housing. The city planning director, Mr. Fulton, sees Mission Valley as critical for absorbing much of the growth expected in the coming decades.

Town N' Country, UT Headquarters, the golf course, Civita, and Hazard Center are all going to be incredibly important to our future housing stalk in the next couple decades. Expect a sea of 100-250' coming into the valley (hopefully).

Side note on Civita, I went through their development plans as well. It seems 200' is the max for a few parts of their development project, on lots closer to Friars road.

Also, none of this includes what might happen at Qualcomm... Plus the Mission Valley Community Plan is about to start the update process (2-3 year endeavor), so there is going to be a lot of fun stuff happening in the valley.

I had no idea Civita was building any taller than 5-6 floors. Do you have any renderings of ~200 foot buildings there?

Bosa hasn't broken ground on his tower yet. I'm pretty sure that will take place next month. 15th and Island is huge! I haven't been downtown for a while but I need to go down soon to check out all of the projects.

It's on the other side of the border but here is an article on Baja's convention center and future plans down there. Maybe we could see some high rises come into the mix. http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2014/...na-urban-land/

Here is a VOSD article on the crash and recovery of downtown projects. http://voiceofsandiego.org/2014/06/1...n-development/

They don't have any renderings. The heights are maximum options. Parts of Civita give the developer(s) the leeway to go as high as 200' (although most of the community ranges from 70'-100' max limits). Kind of like how in downtown you theoretically can go to '500 above sea level, but in reality most just stay well below that threshold. So we shall see what unfolds. I'm excited to see what the denser southern and eastern side of the area is going to end up looking like.

Other projects I know of are:

- North Embarcadero Visionary Plan (taking waaaaay too long to finish that)
- Fat City/China Camp hotel is U/C
- Coral by Cohn Restaurant Group (next to C Level/Island Prime on Harbor Island) is U/C according to the C Level/Island Prime website
- Horton Plaza Park

Here is an article on new office space in San Diego. It mentions La Jolla Commons three may also contain a hotel component! Also, they mention IDEA1 which they say has 100,000 sq. feet of office which is larger than the 65,000 sq ft version in the current plans we've seen. http://www.sddt.com/news/article.cfm...+major+changes

Broadstone project at 5th & Thorn

As of June 12, 2014 looking southeast from 4th & Thorn. I like the rounded setbacks.

Awesome webcam! Can watch progress on other projects.

I assumed this would happen, but I hadn't heard anything about it until now. I guess they're replacing that dingy old Bay Cafe as part of Phase 1 of the North Embarcadero Visionary Plan:
