So still another 600+ feet to grow? This will totally dominate everything around it.

I still can't believe all the change that's happened in the past 5 years from that view. It's absolutely incredible. |
^ The view of the skyline is so much better with peaks and contrasting heights, a concept the NIMBYs do not get with their nonsense need to have everything be the same heights/fitting in/contextual.

On a side note, a few posts up, check out 220 CPS. Blends in so well with the much older structures in the foreground (along CP South).
220 CPS and 111 W 57th will be ones for the architecture books. I could just picture a nice book at some college called "fundamentals of architecture" with a pic of Steinway on the front cover and being used in some architecture class for freshmen. Sadly, the class on the exam had an average of a 20... and only 1 passed. He went on to design the 1st mega tall for NYC. After great success, and going on to designing Chicago's 1st mega tall, he was struck by a bus (that was taking NIMBYs to a community meeting) and died. But he is not to be forgotten, as the "fundamentals of architecture", with the Steinway pic, inspired him to transform two skylines. (credits screen) |
Getting close to be the dominant tower over Central Park.
