AUSTIN | Projects & Construction III
Here's a list of Austin's tallest active projects that are at least 100' tall (or appear to be based on available information) as of September 2016. There are five status types:
U/C - Cement has been poured Site Prep - Dirt is moving or utility work is underway Site Demo - At least one structure on the site has been or is being demolished Proposed - A specific project has been announced or has had building permit(s) filed with specific structure information Planned - A project has been announced or has had building permit(s) filed but without specific structure information, more visionary in nature Projects highlighted in green (as in go) are underway with financing in place. These can include projects with a Site Prep or Site Demo status. Projects highlighted in yellow have been completed during the current calendar year and have been removed from the active projects count. http://i.imgur.com/c86SzBy.png http://i.imgur.com/07QP487.png http://i.imgur.com/usdcFy2.png http://i.imgur.com/pIF5fgE.png http://i.imgur.com/ZLQPIjW.png |

the spoilers are awesome because at first one would say, "oh but this is austin wishful thinking." but then you click on the spoilers and whaddaya know, nearly half the proposed buildings are already under construction.

Lol!

Love It!!!
|
Thank you. One thing I am not sure of though. Should I include the Circuit of the Americas?
I am trying to only put stuff that is like 100 feet minimum, and the tower at COTA is like 280 feet. And not sure how tall the grand stands and pit building are, but in the photos of the construction they are doing they look massive. So maybe? |

Lol. The tallest thing in the Under Construction section will be the racetrack, followed by a UT dorm. :P

Downtown to bloom (again) Four big projects slated for ‘Market District’ Premium content from Austin Business Journal by Vicky Garza, Staff Writer Friday, April 13, 2012 You could only read the first paragraph at the ABJ, but I found the entire article reprinted on J B Goodwin Realtor's website. wwmiv - the rendering of the retail project you asked about is located at 405 N.Lamar and is also mentioned in the above story. |
Thats great, thanks for the update Lonestar, that area is going to be a very nice area of Downtown, but then again it seems like most of Downtown's districts are going to be nice and impressive in their own right. Market District, Waterfront District, Rainey Street District, Warehouse District will continue to improve as well as 6th and Red River Streets in the coming years. I guess the areas that will be left for improvement will be the area surrounding the capital and if im not mistaken the state still wants to build up those areas. Im sure it may be awhile but its a step in the right direction.

WTF, who do I have to blow to get a compliment on my google earth renderings?
|
I'll take up that offer. ;)
|
Nice renderings NYC_Longhorn... One thing though your missing Skyhouse.
LOL wwmiv Id have to see a pic of you NYC first LOL |
Lol, NYC. I hope it is OK, I added the one from the School for the Deaf to the top of my list. I love them!
The BJ will not be necessary. Maybe I could pass your generous offer to wwmiv? :P |
Wait a minute. What is that really tall pink line north of Frost Tower?
Also, the building south of Lady Bird Lake is missing from your list. I'm guessing that's Aquaterra? And you might want to update your rendering for Seaholm. http://seaholm.info/ The Whitney Printing Tower may just be my favorite development under construction right now. It's not huge; it's just a solid project in a key area of downtown. And it's apartments, which makes it even cooler. The Gables Park Plaza Tower is definitely up there with it, though. |

i'm sure the narrow lines don't give you a good perspective on just how dense downtown will get, but it does give you an awesome idea of how tall it will be. especially those twin towers! they're gonna make austin look mighty impressive. |
And it goes on and on and on.....
