I've heard rumours / and seen posts on other forums that they are even looking at Europe from the East (which could explain what WS will use its other LGW / DUB slots for) but not sure, kinda late to be adding TATL. Maybe more routes from Eastern Canada? WS is announcing its full summer schedule in March / so I'd expect a Swoop announcement around then too. |

If they transitioned Swoop to the same model as Air Canada and Rouge then that would be workable. WestJet already has interline/codeshare agreement at both ends. |

Made it to TO. We’re sitting on the plane delayed because it’s taking so long to get the luggage aboard. Captain said he doesn’t want to leave any bags behind but is only willing to give it another 10 minutes. We also have to de-ice. Arrival in Dublin pushed to 9 am. I don’t think that’s a big difference but I’ve no idea what time we were supposed to land lol

Happy Boeing 757 Day everyone! Only if a Canadian Carrier operated it.
We’re now at page 757! |

Guess a favourable jet stream last night. |
Calgary International Airport (YYC) hosted 14.5 million passengers in 2022, recouping 81 per cent of its pre-pandemic traffic, according to the Calgary Airport Authority (CAA).
“YYC is back to connecting people and cargo to places. We are thrilled by last year’s numbers for both our airports and expect to see close to 3 million more guests in 2023 at YYC,” said Rob Palmer, VP commercial, strategy and CFO. “We look forward for our industry to regain stability in the next few years.” The CAA says in a statement that YYC is a major economic contributor to our province, as it handles 37 per cent of connecting flights in the country. The authority adds YYC is also “one of the largest contributors to the regional GDP each year at an estimated $8 billion.” Meanwhile, cargo plays an important role in generating revenue, as cargo freight levels are higher than those in 2019. “In 2022, 5,362 aircraft filled with cargo landed at YYC Calgary International Airport. YYC can handle more cargo now and will capitalize on that opportunity through investments such as the west runway rehabilitation and sustainability improvements,” the statement reads. YYC authority says it’s looking for extra funding from the provincial and federal governments to tackle the hike in operating costs since 2022. The good news is complete recovery to pre-pandemic levels is in the forecast for this year, as the airport is expecting 17 to 18 million passengers. https://calgary.citynews.ca/2023/02/...-2022-yyc/amp/ |
Lovely view of TO taking off. And safely arrived in Dublin. Got me sim, plug adapter, good to go.

Highlight of Dublin’s shiny new terminal is a Burger King. Everything else is typical catering fare. |

Porter have just announced their newest destination - Charlottetown!
PD will be launching seasonal daily YYG-YOW service on May 17th until October on the DH4. Interestingly unlike YFC, YQM and YHZ, the YYG service will not be a thru to YTZ but will offer connections over YOW to/from YTZ, YYZ & YQT. https://www.newswire.ca/news-release...882673000.html |
WS presser is out. Interestingly it does not mention YXE-MSP (unless its being held for its own press release).
