Oh yes, lots of cooking. Making a German style goulash this afternoon with meat we got form a local bakery that's repurposed a bit and doing bulk orders. Will see how it tuns out!

^Last night was our break! Got some burgers from a local bar that's doing takeout, and discovered they were also serving draught beer in mason jars. That's definitely not legal, but who am I to say no?

I have a "friend" who caches his weed stash and uses this as a weight loss activity. |
I just came back from Home Depot, which just reopened yesterday in Ontario. Lineup outside of 39 people, only 17% of us wearing masks (including me), though everyone was good about the physical distancing. I think everyone has been well-trained by the grocery stores. Most of the staff were not wearing masks, although they had plexiglass dividers at the checkout and they’re only accepting debit/credit.
Don’t think I want to go to these stores very often right now, especially if I’m short on time. But today being a Sunday, I didn’t mind waiting. Driving around in London this afternoon, I saw quite a few driveway Mother’s Day meetings (visitors on the driveway, parents on the porch.) It was nice to see. |
Working on my series of pole-dancing instructional videos for middle-aged men. Will post Youtube links when they're done.

Besides Work and Kids: How are you passing the time?
Drinking lots of local beer and youporn. |

Cleaning things I've neglected. Pulled the stove out and found a horrific scene. It's clean now but I think I inhaled some dust mites. :(

There's a sizable group of geocachers across Canada and the states....plenty of west coasters, Ontarians and people from other provinces. |
My goulash turned out amazing. Next up is salmon tartare- we went in with some friends in the restaurant industry and got amazing quality salmon.

Between working from home and minding the children there has not been a ton of extra time. When I'm not doing those things there is always some task or household chore that needs doing, and if not that then procrastinating with ssp or twitter :)
I have not watched a single movie or read a single book during the quarantine so far... as much as I'd like to, there's just no way. By the time the kids get to bed there's too much stuff to do. Then around 10 pm I usually sit down on the couch with the Mrs. for a nightcap and just talk about what's going on, what needs doing, etc., maybe watch something on TV. That hour is the most relaxing part of the day by far. I was running on the regular for the first month and a half but that has dropped off a bit... it's tough to keep ducking into the basement to run on the treadmill while my wife gets stuck juggling kids and her job. I suppose that on the whole I don't find that I have any extra time on my hands as a result of all this. |
I'm just waiting for a nice day to clean up my small front garden. I planted pumpkin seed about a month ago indoors that need to go outside now. At least hardware and garden centres are open again. Between working out (glad I bought a bow flex 2 years ago), walking my dog 4-5 times a day, I have been checking out local breweries and distilleries. I'm glad there are other members on here doing these little design competitions, I'm finding that to be relaxing. the one thing I'm looking forward to right now is the donation box at value Village to open back up so I can purge half of my stuff. I'm feeling a little trapped by clutter.
I need to stay off amazon, I've been online shopping a little too much. |

I don't have any more time to "pass" than I did before. So mostly work, and working out.
Weekends have been taken up by a kitchen reno, which I would have done anyway. A lack of other social life events just means getting more done. Thank fuck Home Depot opened again. I'm one of those guys who needs to stand in the aisle for half an hour staring at fittings and piecing them together. And probably make two runs back to get the right parts. That's a freaking two week delay when it I have to order online. We got up on time so we could be there for opening. It snowed. It was essentially Christmas! |
Cooking, watching movies, and Catan online.

I work from home and we have a 5 month-old, so work and kids take up the majority of my time under any circumstance.
That said, I have been doing a few things that I wouldn't normally be doing. I've jumped on the bread-making bandwagon, and I've also been making my own kombucha and cooking a lot more. I also started growing vegetables from seed with the help of a Jiffy tray and grow light. I was afraid that garden stores would be closed completely this season, and that there would be a shortage of vegetables in the summer - although both of those fears were misplaced. |
