Neverending Mountain West region college football thread

Woohoo! What a game last night! BYU played very well. Surprisingly well on defense.

BYU, BSU and Utah all look very solid this year

FrancoRey Sep 6, 2009 4:21 PM

I don't expect much, but I hope for some positives somewhere! Maybe above a .500 season? :fingerscrossed:

GO BUFFS!

Well only losing by 18 at Utah, when in recent years a 40 point pounding at home was normal, has me somewhat hopeful for the Aggies under Gary Anderson. He's known as a great recruiter as well, so the effects of that won't be seen for another 1-2-3 years.

Congrats to BYU and BSU as well.

Basically...the norm has been very similar over the past years..

40 points is way beyond the normal spread. USU is going to get much better because of Gary Anderson. He learned a lot with Whit. He also is a motivator and someone who knows how to recruit!

2008, 2006, 2004 and 2003 were blowouts The rest of the decade was virutally an identical spread from the game last weekend.

Gary will make them competitive again.

Rams beat the Buffs.. Sorry Buff fans. New QB for CSU looks pretty tough. Nice win.

Huh CU is part of the Big Twelve not in the Mountain West R-tard.

Go Byu

BYU has a new biggest fan here in Denver. Great, great, great game!!!

TonyAnderson Sep 7, 2009 5:09 AM

It says Mountain West football, not specifically Mountain West Conference.

Huh does it say Mountain West CONFERENCE? No. We posted ALL Mountain West football teams here last year before you even were on this forum, so I'll let it slide. Huh Boise State isn't in the MWC either!

I'd resort to calling you an R-tard but I'll just assume your idiotic and brash personality is merely a disorder on your part which you have no control over. I hope for your sake that name calling isn't your knee jerk reaction for everyday chit-chat, let alone posting on a forum.

Indeed, the Buffs lose again. I'm getting real tired of the Hawkins duo. Sigh.

There is a high sense of urgency this year for results in Boulder, since it's been, what, seven years since the Buffs were even ranked!?! Yikes. It's even been an issue on some ESPN broadcasts that CU as a program has lost/is losing its way in the last decade.

I look forward to some of the other teams though. BYU, Boise, and Utah could do some great things this year. I loved watching the mighty SEC fall to the MWC last year. Too bad it didn't yield a National Championship bid, but that too may change in the coming years.

he's just naturally pretty... don't hate... :haha:

Yes, this thread is for all teams representing this Mountain West forum, not just the Mountain West Conference.

My Mountain West Rankings after week 1:

1. BYU
2. BSU
3. UU
4. CSU
5. hmmmm.... CU looked bad, but I can't put Wyoming, Idaho or USU in this spot, so CU.

FrancoRey Sep 7, 2009 3:39 PM

I'd put Air Force over us. Put them there. Please, for our sake. :haha:
