And a sizable amount of construction going on in the immediate area. Anyone know what some of those other projects are?

scalziand Feb 9, 2012 1:33 PM

World One is part of a complex that will have 2 other towers in it, World Crest and the Queen Tower, which is supposed to be at least 90floors. I don't know much about adjacent projects though.

Ok, I done a bit of digging. The tower under construction in the lower left is one of a 45 floor twin tower development called Lotus Complex

To the right of World One/World Crest there's going to be some sort of sports arena.

The tower under construction in the upper right with the speckled blue cladding at the base is the 60 floor Orbit Terraces

The tower is 442 meters not 450, it's the exact same height as Sears.

Nice work, scaziland! This area is going to have quite the skyline in a few years.

well, its not a prophecy... do you seriously think mumbai or dubai are going to have half the occupation for any of the towers they build? I mean, the only way they went up in the first place were because of cheap loans, mass debt, and notoriety. The developers aren't doing this to fulfill economic needs. If they were doing that, there would be highrises and shops all up and down the city. But no, there are still slums and piles of shit everywhere. They think adding all these supertalls are going to increase the quality and standard of living overnight. The worst though, is probably the supertall hotels the developers want. They must be absolutely crazy if they ever think these projects make any sound financial sense whatsoever. Theres a reason why dubai is in a recession right now, mainly because none of the towers are even remotely paying themselves off. And I can guarantee you as long as mumbai has this mindset, the city is never going to prosper. It might look nice from a distance, where you can't recognize how empty all the skyscrapers are and all the slums, but that's about it. Your welcome for the guarantee.

so we're only supposed to care about the way they look and how tall they are right?

lets all ignore context, great idea.

World One, among other projects can be seen in this video. The core is about 4-5 floors high.

scalziand Jun 26, 2012 8:20 PM

It's hard to tell where ground level is, but it looks to be ~10fl now.

Just so I'm clear on what I see here: They are working on World One and World Crest, but not yet Queen Tower?

scalziand Aug 3, 2012 8:21 PM

Correct.

scalziand Aug 30, 2012 9:09 PM

Really nice steady progress now.

There was some worry about getting approvals for this tower, but they appear to have been dealt with for the most part. (not entirely sure I believe that though)

You have not secured all the permissions for the 117-storey World One project and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has not given you complete possession in the Wadala project. Isn’t that a concern for your customers?

For World One, we have secured approvals from all departments except from the civil aviation one. It is the least of our worries. It is a process and they are still studying the project. Our international consultants have studied it and have not found any problem. We have not sold one flat more than what we have permission for. We are a fool-proof company and we don’t go beyond what authorities have approved. In the Wadala project, while MMRDA has given possession of a part of the land, we have commenced sales where construction is underway.

In the World One and World Crest projects, how many flats have you sold?

In World One, 60 per cent is sold, while in World Crest, 50 per cent is sold.
