I love this picture because there's a lot going on. You can see prep work for the Gas Company Tower, the emptiness that would soon be home to Cal Plaza 2 (complete with the Water Court), Bunker Hill Steps, the modern edition to the Central Library, and if you look closely, you can see the little street in front of One Bunker Hill that would lead you to Bunker Hill via Hope Street. |
^^You can certainly see the famous smog too which has been cleaned up a lot since then due to better mileage cars, reformulated gas and reduced pollution from electricity generation and other sources.
