PHOENIX - Around the City before the Sprawl

I got a new point-and-shoot for my wedding and I wanted to try it out. I went around Sunday afternoon to take pictures of little things around the neighborhoods around Downtown Phoenix.

My last similar thread which also aims to show "hidden" or "less common" parts of Phoenix not normally seen is a bit longer from a couple years ago is here: Historic/Random Phoenix Photo Thread

Yes, there is no one out on Sunday afternoon. Yes, green grass "wastes" water in Phoenix. :P

Very nice job. I especially like the pic of the red brick church in Garfield with the little Spanish bungalows framing it, Ive never looked at that angle before, its cool.

Very unusual...and love the summertime afternoon sky.

There's some nice grit here.

Love the different angles and perspectives. Definitely not what most people think of when they think of Phoenix

Easily one of the better Phoenix tours. Well done!

The pictures are basically in chronological order. By the time I got to the area around the Depot at the end, the were constant rumbles of thunder.

Nice photos, love the Santa Fe Depot. I'm assuming it was too hot for most people to be outside. For me I would either be in a pool or at a water park as I'm sure they have some really nice ones in Phoenix.

UNREAL! I thought I was looking at a ghost town.

Beautiful! Glad I stopped by!

Thanks for the photo's. The metro area has done a lot to promote itself as a place to "get away" as in away from city life. Photo's and thread like this are a nice reminder that, if you look for it, you can find a some city life in "the valley".
