So, if I'm interpreting the design of the Gibson Residences building right, it looks a garage will be built below the Church Street viaduct and the 21 story tower itself will be on top of it at street level. Am, I correct?
The GR will add a nice balance to that area and help to create a nice visual approach along Church Street heading into Nashville Yards. It will help stretch the skyline inside the loop westward and create depth. |

This was just revealed this morning on the Nashville Development Tracker (dozens of drawings). It is a 30+ story office at 400+ ft. on the Korean Veterans Blvd. roundabout. The developer, Lincoln Properties is seeking an allowance for extra height and I would suspect it would be approved.

Well one step back for Nashville...
Disappointing news about this one. It is on hold temporarily in spite of securing loans obtaining the land. The owners, who were prepared to build it without a tenant lined up, are now concerned that many companies looking at Nashville to relocate or open branches may be holding off until the economic climate settles down. It's a shame that this particular building is not a go for the moment as it would be a perfect fit in the dense little mid-rise neighborhood just off world famous Music Row. I call the neighborhood 'Taylor Town' named after its most famous resident. Nobody else calls it that although they should. I've been reading about the proposed Reed property development on Urban Planet. You're right, if the developers are able to build all that they are at least contemplating at this very early stage in the process, it will definitely change Mid-town as we know it. And, I suspect it would impact the whole area between Charlotte and Broadway up to 21st Ave. for decades to come. With the skyline shifting westward, we just might see a continuation of the skyline on into Mid-town with the only break being I-40. But, just an FYI... according to some posters on UP, the developers of Broad West are already gearing up to fight the Reed property development based on site obstruction. I don't think they stand a chance in hell of winning such a battle, but they may be positioning themselves for one nonetheless. |
