You could have saved 80% of the characters by typing "BC" instead of "West Coast". (Gaining in accuracy while doing so.)
:P |
I'm skeptical we have four Quebec residents who have voted in this poll already :P

Seriously? So that's three mystery voters instead of the two I thought previously.
(Or, accounting for MolsonExport, still two mystery voters instead of one.) I suppose digitboy voted, despite the fact he almost doesn't exist outside the Quebec subforum (or, I could even say, the Rimouski thread), given he voted in Truenorth's other "forum census" thread. That still leaves us with one mystery voter in any case! |

No interest in those living abroad?

I think of the actual West Coast as only being the coastal parts of BC extending a little bit inland. As a point of comparison, Reno is closer to the Pacific than a lot of the BC interior. Would somebody living in Reno say they live on the West Coast? |

Not too sure anyone does though ;) |

Where am I from or where do I live?

(That wording makes the difference between me answering Vancouver or Sherbrooke, and I'm pretty sure the answer Truenorth seeks is the latter) |

Another example would be someone living in remote far north Manitoba. That's way more "The North" than "The Prairies". Similarly, my gf's family (pure Anglos with deep roots in a sea-oriented town on the shores of the Gulf of St. Lawrence) should probably answer "Maritimes" rather than "Quebec". (If the goal is to get some sort of cultural sample.) |

Born in Victoria, and raised in Kelowna. Vancouver was the last Canadian city I lived in before moving overseas. I'm currently living in Seoul.
|
Ontario: I've lived in London - too young to appreciate it, in the middle of nowhere dirt roads near Wingham - I still like this town and the farms around it, Mississauga - gross , Toronto - I consider it home and Waterloo - pretty boring but it's the best suburb in Ontario.
|
Born and grew up in Laval (Vimont) and St-Eustache. Now living in Quebec city since 2011 already!!
|
Grew up in Mississauga, moved to Windsor for university 5 years ago and I'm still here now. I'd like to keep living here, but it's hard to start a professional career in Windsor.

I doubt that I will return to PEI in retirement (coming up in 2-4 years). I'm comfortable in Moncton. If i was to move in retirement, I could see returning to Halifax but other possibilities include Ottawa, Kingston, Stratford, the Okanagan or possibly Vancouver Island. A lot depends on where my sons end up living. One is set up here in Moncton. The other two are still in university, in programs which make it unlikely that they will be living here. It is possible I might choose a retirement location nearby one of them. |

Born in London UK, raised there and later in Halifax NS. Moved to Montreal as an adult but now live in Toronto.

Looks like Ontario is winning. If this is a democracy (and I presume none of us are communists or fascists here), then I think this data point will serve as a standard for future reference should any dispute arise on SSP between this country's provincials, upstarts or far-flung remotists on the one hand, and the natural leaders and standard-bearers at the centre of Canada on the other.
Let the winner take the spoils, in other words. Ahh....victory is sweet. |

East Vancouver, Lived in BC all my life with the exception of half a year in the st john's newfoundland area.
|
I'm from New Brunswick but currently resides in North Glengarry, Alexandria part. Decided to stay into a rural community because of the communists that are invading cities, barely exagerating here. I don't drive but manage to do everything on foot. People find that weird but I don't care.
|
I am from Ontario, but have lived a few years in Halifax and Victoria.
Ironically, my main things I like to push are outside of my province. I guess it is because we have great things here that other provinces should have. |

Holy geographic imbalance Batman!! You'll find that the West Coast + Prairies equals Ontario here. A shift of power! is in the air. Westward hoo! |
One of the few people actually born in Calgary, but joined the correct side in Ontario!
