I figured since it's always a big event and there isn't an official thread that exists, I might as well make one. :)
The first list of performers was just released...seems like a bit of a downgrade from last year but maybe it's just my taste. |

The Killjoys.
Today I Hate Everyone! |
That's a pretty good show on the 10th.
The line-up looks not too bad. Fred Penner is exciting! |

I heard there's going to be ticketed concerts, meaning you have to pay. So I wonder what venue it'll be. Tivoli theatre??
|
WOW Monster Truck will have a huge crowd I can't wait! They drew 30,000 out to Sound of Music in Burlington so I can't even imagine the amount they'll get playing free in their hometown!

It's been expanded all the way to Main Street this year to take advantage of Gore Park.
Map: http://supercrawl.ca/public/Supercrawl%202015%20Map.pdf Weather is looking like it'll be terrible all weekend and the music lineup is definitely weaker (at least name recognition wise) compared to last years so I wonder what attendance will be like. |
The weather forecast doesn't look too bad, but time will tell I guess

Interestingly, GO isn't providing any extra service this year. Kinda wonder what that and any possible bad weather might do to attendance numbers.
|
They're predicting up to 165,000 ppl this year.

Very interesting - I'd love to have heard that conversation between the organisers and the jerk who owns that lot.

Ontario pledges $545,000 to Supercrawl at Hamilton funding announcement
http://www.thespec.com/news-story/71...-announcement/ The province announced more than $19 million in funding for Ontario festivals and events in Hamilton Monday afternoon. Three-day art and music festival Supercrawl, which is receiving almost $545,000, was the main draw for holding the announcement in Hamilton, said Burlington MPP and Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Eleanor McMahon. "These kinds of festivals put the city on the map," McMahon said following the announcement at Mills Hardware. Tim Potocic, director of Supercrawl, said, this funding will help them lobby to get more money from sponsors and the municipality as well as grow the festival. In total, the province is supporting 304 events and festivals through the Celebrate Ontario program in 2017 — six of which are in Hamilton. |
