Great Job!!! There are some really exciting projects here in 'Nap!
|
Intriguing. Haven't been to Indy for almost 5 years now. I would love to see some of this stuff on its way or done whenever I get back; especially the airport. :)
|
some pretty awesome looking projects and some pretty terrible ones...but overall well done!
|
Indy has some really cool projects in the works. I need to get back there soon.

429 on the Park (Just started construction, seems to be nicely on its way):

i like those last two projects the best! Man! What a pair of nice venues! Also, the Lucas Oil Stadium looks very nice. :)

They really need to change the name of that project. I look at it and I keep seeing "Slutz" lol
|
Get rid of the taser prongs on the top and I love it.
Don't tase me bro! |
Wow, that's some classy development.
|
New rendering of Cosmopolitan on the Canal (thanks to CorrND's blog for finding this).
220-unit, 7 story apartment building with 18,000 sq. ft. retail on the corner of Senate Ave & Michigan St. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s...anal/Cosmo.jpg |
Drove by the cosmopolitan on the square site today....excavation is on the way!!! couple huge cranes out there and lots of activity....hopefully a web site will be up and running soon!
|
I didn't have any idea some of these projects were even going on. I am especially attracted to that JW Marriott.
|
The Stutz Towers Are Unique
Someone in here said that the proposed Stutz would be great if they got rid of the so-called "taser prongs." Are you kidding me? The towers are what make that building unique. It's called creativity. I realize Hoosiers don't much like creatitivity, but keep the "taser prongs"!
|
The Stutz and Legends District are the Best
Of all of the proposed building projects, the Stutz and Legends District have to happen. They are both gorgeous buildings.
|
Riley Children Hospital UC
|
The Luke looks like an old Armory Building from The WWII Era. Im sure it will be "The Bomb" on the inside, but GEE~WIZ!?

Did someone Photoshop out the Chase Tower in this picture? I guess they wanted the Conrad to pop.

...I'd certainly like to see more of the 'proposed' projects become reality, for obvious reasons. ;)

The Cosmopolitan on the Canal was largely destroyed by fire on March 12, 2009, in the largest fire in Indianapolis in more than 20 years. It was topped-out, fully-enclosed, and scheduled to open to new residents in just 3 months. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s...Burning012.jpg |
ARSON?!? Damn. What a mess.
|
I'm glad Indianapolis is finally starting to fill in their city center. Downtown nightlife is definatley there, but alot more could be done, and it looks like they're trying to do it. More pedestrian friendly retail/residential buildings, sidewalk accesable shopping, thats all going in the right direction.
|
And wow, thats fucked up someone burned down the Cosmopolitan. If I was the architect I'd be investing my time in a personal investigation on who did this, put a bounty on their head and see how the culprit is.

They really should have kept the RCA Dome... It looked great next to Lucas Oil Std and it would have served just as good a purpose as what their building. Would also liked for them to have done something with Market Square Arena as well.

I would just like to see the city density with more quality infill. I did see some of that already, but I hope more is one the way and it doesn't look as sprawly. Overall it is a very nice city with a great quality of life. I could see myself living there and being happy. The downtown is great and I did venture out to see the new airport and was impressed. The stadium and arena is nice. It's also nice to see the city and metro are growing at a solid pace. Things are in place for the city but densification and more of an identity is needed. I also wish the city had more of a rock/heavy metal scene than just rap and a few other genres.

Whoa, excuse me! ...and Indy steps in the ring. It's about time we heard some proposals out of the country's 13th-largest city.
|
Gorgeous proposal! I do hope the rendering of the base is just kind of a place holder though, and is going to be redesigned.

You wouldn't see this in Mexico, as you can't even get insurance on a house, apartment building or motel built with wood down there! But then, if it was all built out of concrete, why would you need insurance anyway? |
Design by Deborah Berke revealed for Cummins new office tower at market square site

Wow way to go Indy. I stayed at that gross LaQuinta just across the street and these two projects will really transform that area.
