Looks like I might be able to take some myself this weekend! My partner has a few rugby games in Red Deer tomorrow. It'll be my first time there since I got a half-decent camera.

Ah cool ;) just be careful downtown after around 5pm, I almost got jumped by some shifty street person the other day while taking some of those pics :/

Well, he comes over to me (shopping cart full of junk and all lol) from the other side of the street, gets right in my face and starts shouting about how he thinks I'm taking his picture and spying on him lol So I got the heck outa there seeing as how there wasn't anyone else around, he could've kicked my ass and taken my camera :( kinda freaky seeing as how he followed me for a few blocks still going on about how I'm "taking his picture" and being generally paranoid and irrational :/ I told him I don't do people, but I don't think he understood that some people like to photograph buildings/landscapes etc, he was convinced that DSLRs are the hallmark of "spying" lol

^ Yikes, scary, yeah. Glad you and your camera came away from that unscathed.

^ Guys like that are a dime a dozen in Winnipeg. They all think you're spying on them (because it is just so interesting to photograph some guy who hasn't showered in a week lugging a backpack around)... it's the main reason I don't really bother taking pictures for fun.

Hmmm, maybe I'll just stay home tomorrow and take pics along the river then :P Plus, I don't have anyone to keep me company during the games anyways! So might as well just chill here :P

I wouldn't worry to much of it as long as you're there before evening when there are tons of people shopping and going about their office duties, it's just when they go home when the lowlifes try to take over.

Just thought I'd post this of Red Deer's Cenotaph. That statue has been sitting in the dead centre of Ross Street for 92 years, luckily it doesn't mess with traffic much. It would suck if they decided to move it, it would take away so much from downtown Red Deer.

something like that happened with my brother and I two months ago. we went to Kalamalka beach at 2am in the morning it was a full moon and we thought it will be good that we go out there and take some nice pics. there were two weirdos sitting there and smoking. they looked at our cameras and they were like "hey those are nice cameras can we take some pictures from those cameras?" and my brother and I we ran to the car as fast as we could. weird people are every where. be safe while taking pics.
