Gotta love Van city's mass and density

Chadillaccc Mar 22, 2013 7:02 PM

I love how categorically this boom has and is continuing to change the skyline. In 2000, the tallest was 144 meters, then in 2001 it was 150 meters (157m spire), then in 2008 it's 200 meters, with a new second tallest at 157, and a newer second tallest UC at 188 meters! Craziness! All of its 5 tallest buildings (including the 1 UC) have been built since 2001.

Okay so I made this (badly) photoshopped image of Niagara falls. I doubled the height of the Skylon tower and gave it a new antenna and elevator. I also edited in the Mississauga 'Marilyn Monroe towers, and some Vegas area I found on google, lol. I think it looks pretty neat!

Chadillaccc Mar 24, 2013 12:14 AM

Lmao!

koops65 Mar 24, 2013 2:22 AM

I finished adding the rest of the major Toronto towers, except for the 1 Yonge complex, still have no idea what that's going to look like:

My God! Toronto's going to be a "Monster" if all that stuff gets built!

DrNest Mar 24, 2013 1:32 PM

They're a game changer for sure!

Impressive. But I'd rather see a render from an angle we can actually see with our own eyes, and not from accross the lake with telephoto.

Well you can kind of get the same profile from the Outer Harbour East Headland. These are 2 years old now I think.

Very nice, the Gateway will add more and blend better than the Turn at least from this (2nd pic) angle.

Good point. As has been demonstrated with the photo from the outer harbour, a telephoto lens does distort things to a significant degree.

The way you placed l'Avenue is incorrect. What we see on your render is the western side of the building.

Broccoli idolatry or Italian ancestry, though the former makes for a much more exciting explanation.

Ottawa's secondary skyline getting ready to take off far from the height restrictions of the parliamentary district. Two tallest at 48 stories. By Waterloowarrior:

Well well, Ottawa's getting a little height.
