Thanks for the correction of the street!:tup: I corrected it on my post.

The drawings are old and the finished building will look different than the rendering. I learned a long time ago to not judge a development until it is COMPLETLY finished. Sometimes the last little flourish of work pulls the whole thing together. What a statement the building will make for Austin, our downtown, and future conventions. I am hopeful that it will get built.

It's a big shame. It was one of my favorite projects. The previous site owners moved the whole thing through the process, so whoever buys the lot already has everything set up should they decide to build it - but I doubt that'll happen.

The emerging projects document that the city puts out every quarter still has it, though, which is good news:

Does anyone know what project C70 "East Austin Hotel" is? The city lists it as 5 buildings each 3 stories.

I hope that Houston developer that didn't get the congress ave easements for his proposed hotel/tower on 10th buys this property.... its ready to go dude!

The hole in the ground for the Corazon Apartments is pretty impressive. When completed it's really going to change the vibe of that area along 5th street which is currently still pretty industrial. These apartments will include 13,300 square feet of retail-restaurant space.

Sixth and Lamar

I was digging and found info for the block behind Whole Foods, not sure if its been shared before so sorry if so. First I have see for plans. No elevations but at least its not square like so many buildings.

12 Story building with 290,515sf and 180ft.
5 Story Building with 184,515sf and 60ft
Parking garage height up to 73.5ft
Parking gagage 5 levels under ground too.

I think that's the original plan. There's also a file that says "final" that is only 397 feet with 29 floors. Supposedly they have the option of adding another floor plus another garage level.

I hope it ends up being 440 feet tall. I tried contacting my contact at Cousins, but he hasn't replied back about it. He was the one that got me the heights for Frost Bank Tower and Palisades West. Still no reply, though.

397 feet will barely make a dent in the skyline in that area. It'll be surrounded by taller buildings on two sides and only be about as tall as One American Center. The most impact it'll make on the skyline is when viewing it from the southwest between the W Hotel, Ashton and The Austonian.
