I wonder if any of this change in stance has to do with the release of the Vornado designs, (where their tower is pushed to the far west of their site), giving 225 a wider view.

It's interesting to read that the cantilever is not a necessity for this tower - these comments are certainly much less bullish than Barnett's past statements.
My guess is that this vote will pass, but for all of the aforementioned reasons I hope it doesn't! |
Extell will build without the cantilever..
I'm guessing. |

Whoever was arguing that 111 W-57th will look as tall as 432 Park and Nordstrom has my backing. |
I'd like a redesign, but 31 mil is a lot of dough :(

Whatever is decided at the ASL, Barnett now has final construction permits in place to move forward on whichever design is being built. http://a810-bisweb.nyc.gov/bisweb/Jo...A3&requestid=2 |

Unlike food, air rights don't expire. It can always be sold in the future, possibly for even more money.
Don't sell, ASL. |
From SSC. Looks like the old massing (1550 ft)?

Old massing, perhaps, but new shape. And no cantilever in this version.
I think Barnett really wants that cantilever, though. Shifting the tower 30 feet east makes a big difference with the CP views. |
^^ Such a better design though. Really want to see a slanted roof here.
(Sorry didn't mean to beat you to posting) |

^ Oops, yes you're right. Anyway, I like everyone here hope there will be no cantilever.

Bad design and mediocre height, this development is nothing but a disappointment. I'll wait until final renderings are revealed, so this saga can finally be closed.
