in any case, finding rentals all over the map.

These look like the same unit just on consecutive floors. Also, same realtor which could indicate the same investor. I see a strategy here. I just haven't noticed it before.

^ Looks great! Nice balance between historic preservation and a few contemporary elements.

DSAI should fold. Absolute dull corporate garbage coming from them since 2012.

Waterloo proposal is huge and, you may not know it by looking at it, an aesthetic upgrade for Waterloo largest developer

Any new updates for Spire.

Vaughan Centre development once again exceeds expectations. They do need to cut that block in at least two and the interior courtyard should be double the width. Then again, this area also has 70 storey towers planned

Spire in Saskatoon looks great. Should make a positive impact on the skyline. Spire is a strange name for it though.

I wouldn't say Quebec is always on top for maintenance of older (60's) infrastructure like roads, but it has noticeably more older buildings that are kept in a decent state and then repurposed. In NS, ~100% of them deteriorate while in service, are left to rot for years when declared surplus, and then are torn down. The Saint John General Hospital was somewhat nice too and was demolished (along with their central train station and a bunch of other landmarks; hard to imagine that happening in Montreal or Quebec City).

What a beauty that old Victoria Hospital. Really happy to see it will get a new lease on life.

TorontoDrew Dec 23, 2023 1:29 AM

That Hospital always gives me Insane Asylum vibes. It looks like a few of the giant abandoned ones in the U.S. pretty cool structure.

Look up the old mind control experiments they used to run there, you'll be shocked

Indeed. The MK Ultra program was partially run from this hospital from the 1940's until the 60's.

WhipperSnapper Dec 23, 2023 3:45 PM

Those old abandoned sanatoriums where people with tuberculosis were locked up to die are creepy as hell.

These century old hospitals are extremely costly to adapted to modern usage and are associated with death and illness. It takes an institution like a university. I don't get bothered when they come down.

This overview of the development plan looks a lot greener than as I remember the site. Looks like a great campus
