Seeing this one illuminate orange during the night time when there's football... wow

When are you moving to Austin gillynova?

I’m moving from ATL to ATX in February.

Lmfao, I just you posted that too! Aiming for around the same time but nothing concrete yet. I was going to ask my manager if I am able to move out there since we have offices in Austin but she just told me she's retiring and now I'm going to be under a new person... so I should make some good first impressions before asking haha.

I'm happy I was able to visit before the lockdown happened though. You should all know when I'm there when I start posting pics haha

Evolution and transformation.

Those are the two first words that come to mind when I think of Austin

Isn’t it just a copy and paste of the Towers article?

Max is Towers.

The ATX Nov 8, 2020 9:26 PM

This was originally a two tower project. Here are some renderings from 2019. Notice Travis #1 is included in these renderings. The one rendering with snow and ice is weird.

That might still be the plan for the site on 99 Red River, we still don't know much about that half of this property. Those renders also show that this has been around for a while, although everything about this site has been around for ages it seems.

Ok, LOL about snow in the rendering...

The ATX Nov 8, 2020 10:05 PM

We Work closed on the site in late 2018, and these renderings are from early 2019. So they apparently never planned to move forward with the approved WPP site plan. But they were pretty quick to get moving with a new project.

The renderings are apparently from the Korean offices of KPF. They obviously didn't research the climate of Austin.

Good point about the second tower being 99 Red River (Block 190). I initially didn't think it was because the height of 98 Red River doesn't look like 1,021' when compared to the ~600' Travis #1 tower. I thought maybe the second tower was cancelled and height was added to the one tower.

I like this version a lot more. Its more defined singular stories makes it look taller.

The ATX Nov 8, 2020 10:49 PM

The second tower in this new rendering of 98 Red River is 99 Red River (Block 190). The Hilton can be seen down Red River between the towers. The floor count in the new renderings is not an exact science. But it's not too far off from 74 in the first set of renderings. Block 190 is ~36-stories.

Here's another one showing both towers from the same link as the last batch I posted. I hope Lincoln/Kairoi/We Co. clarify what the latest version looks like.

Here are some slightly better renderings from the Northpoint/KPF website source code.

The more I see the multi tower renders, the less I like the single tower one.

This is the most descriptive pic of the new batch IMO. I really like how the two towers interrelate -- they make sense together. The lines seem more organic and less . . . awkward than the one we saw initially.

The amount of space something like this would bring to the market is crazy -- especially if they finished out a second tower. I'm very curious as to how WeWork fits into this plan.
