Well it looks like they have built a box so far. Keep up the good work boys!

I cycle past this every day, and they're making extremely slow progress. It's moving but very, very slow. I don't really understand Hamilton's slow as hell development time for everything.

Concrete below grade is well under way now. Workers were on site on Saturday today

Typically in Toronto buildings with car elevators have two for that exact reason.

Developers avoid them as much as possible usually since the cost of two elevators is extremely high.

I'm really surprised to see it in Hamilton at all, they are such a cost item in Toronto that most developers there still go to great lengths to avoid them wherever possible. But I guess only building one cuts the cost of them in half.. making it more worthwhile. Just hope the elevator doesn't go down for a few days when your car is down there.

wonder what happens if your vehicle is too big, or high, or wide, to fit in that..

Here's a video showing how it may look, give or take variations for this particular project.

It's a pity those buildings right beside it are still boarded up pieces of crap..

Doesn't look like there has been any movement here since the last photo update... wonder why that is. Anyways, here's what it looked like earlier today.

This is my daily commute along Cannon bike track and most days there are zero workers present or like 2 guys. I don't get how you finish something this slowly. You have some developments working every single day until 10PM 7 days a week, and things like this where they do work every couple days.

Guess it probably depends on the budget.

ScreamingViking Dec 23, 2020 10:55 AM

I wonder if they're waiting on something custom to the building that needs to be in place before other structural work can happen.

LikeHamilton Dec 23, 2020 4:46 PM

There is a shortage of some of the trades. In new subdivisions, you will see signs advertising certain trades that are needed. You will see buildings that looks like work has stopped but really its a shortage of workers/trades.

craftbeerdad Jan 4, 2021 6:39 PM

Considering it's the same development team as the Vista Condos, it will probably take forever relatively speaking.

johnnyhamont Feb 13, 2021 4:27 PM

They added the third floor slabs this week! Can't wait to see what progress they have in store for 2022.
