Has anyone been to Ruocco Park? How is it. So the County Admin Building Park is finally starting... What about construction to revamp the waterfront? Am I wrong in assuming that it has officially "started"?

Just saw on today on nbc's football night in America that LA city council voted 9-0 in favor of a 75,000 seat football stadium in LA. Front runners being SD, Oakland, St. Louis. Construction could start in 2013, completion by 2016 season.

Looks like the city has a year or two to make the stadium deal happen. Hopefully enough of the old codgers fighting this will have retired and left the city by then...finally letting go of their illusions of selling their homes at bubble prices.

Are any of you following the feasibility study of a streetcar line to the zoo? The line is proposed to extend from Smart Corner to Zoo Dr. I'm curious why the line doesn't continue to University and Park. That isn't too much farther, and would add serious ridership. Maybe that will happen as a next step?

Really? Worst project ever? I think the Hilton Bayfront looks worse... at least this one almost "hidden" between two huge towers. And I think it's great that it has 700 units, the more, the better I think.

That said, it's a boring project and I can't stand the piece of exposed concrete... it's so ugly and lazy.

This is a non story Leo. Of course the City Council was going to approve it. They weren't approving any public money. Whoever buys AEG has to pay Anschutz, spend 1.5 to 2 billion to demolish the convention center and build the stadium. Buy 40 to 50% of an NFL team and possibly pay a relocation fee or some other kind of franchise fee. So this is far from a done deal and we don't even know if AEG is going to sell maybe no one will be willing to meet Anschutz's asking price.

Mark Davis is going to sell his share in the Raiders, the Davis family has all of its wealth tied up in the franchise they own. Show me one other owner of a pro sports team in the same situation? There is none because they all were rich from some other business interest before they bought a team. The Davis family will only be mega wealthy once they sell their only asset (the Raiders).

Agree with everything. LA is making progress though and won't be without a team for much longer. Hopefully it's the Raiders. I hate their fans....they'd fit in perfect if they move back to LA. :D

I too hope that is what happens. It almost seems to me with LA in his back pocket, Spanos doesn't have to try very hard...spend very much. With LA off the table, it's as if he would have no excuse but to commit to San Diego.

Can you imagine the Chargers and the Raiders sharing the same stadium?

At least Vantage Pointe doesn't have 4 levels of exposed parking screened by a green wall, that won't be kept up and will die off, that's anchored by a shitty shimmering wall that they stole from the Sparkles van.

This is the worst project proposed in downtown on the books currently. You guys need to look more into the ground level... or lack thereof.
