^^^ Das whats up. No details just a fatty rendering huh K? I'm so down with verticality in the East Village. Where else are struggling youths going to live. They have to get out of their parents house sometime. I say pack them in to micro apartments in 30 floor plus towers! It would be like living in the dorms all over again.

La Jolla Commons Tower II is proceeding at breakneck speed. Looks like we'll be at street level soon, some of the rebar columns are already poking up.

16th and G looks decent. I would live there.
And screw La Jolla Commons, I have no patience for that down-sized box project. |

New MTS map and trolley routes
I personally love the new changes to the mts, less wait time in downtown, (which was always hell) easier to go to my classes at Mesa now thank goodness.

Oh man, that's sad. I like that current design, but a tall sleek tower would've been so much better in that location. :(

I don't mind the new design, bright rainbow colors and all. The original one looked to be more of a filler until they made a more detailed design anyways.

Condo, office tower plans OK'd for Santa Fe Depot
Bosa, Irvine plans call for three projects on balance of 17-acre site
Two condo towers and a high-rise office building downtown worth $649 million received new endorsements Wednesday as Civic San Diego kept alive a 30-year-old development agreement for the Santa Fe Depot property. Under the 10-year plan to be reviewed by the Planning Commission Thursday and the City Council next month, Bosa Development plans a 41-story, 232-unit tower, estimated at $149 million, at the southeast corner of Pacific Highway and Broadway and a 36-story, 285-unit tower, estimated at $200 million, at the southwest corner of Kettner Boulevard and Ash Street.... http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/...santa-fe-depo/ http://media.utsandiego.com/img/phot...e0b2d025cf5799 |
Bosa to the rescue again.

Buck Yeah! I heart Nat Bosa. Kind weird how the 36 floor tower has more units. Lets do dis.

So Ariel Suites (already under construction), 2 BOSA projects, Lane Field, and the Irvine company Tower should be rising up in the Columbia District soon!

How bout those Chargers...bump
|
What about them? They're going to move to LA in a few years. If we're lucky, maybe they'll call them the "Southern California Chargers" and save us some of the embarrassment of losing an NFL team (not that we have obligation or the means to build them a new stadium).
Aside from that, the Bosa projects are nice. Just aesthetically of course. They won't do much in terms of making Pacific Highway, or the Columbia District any more active (how many snowbirds and retirees are going to be buying second homes this time?...) but at least they're pretty. I want 11th and Broadway, 9th and Broadway, and to 15th and Island to start moving! Those are going to be crucial to expanding our city's activity downtown. |

I do agree with you though that there is plenty to be down about in this city. |
I don't think they're going anywhere either. What happened to all the hype around a stadium in LA? Oh yeah, it died.
