Long time lurker for no other reason than my first name is Austin lol.

Love the growth of this place and in my opinion is shaping up to be the best skyline in Texas.

Yeah. The tax rate is basically the same citywide. It's when the property values skyrocket - so do taxes owed. However, I'd much rather pay a little more in property taxes than pay a state income tax.

The property taxes on these properties can be so high that the owner can't afford to keep the property, and has to sell. You have to have a high income or a lot of money in the bank to pay the really high property taxes.

Yes. But, that is just one scenario. The issue is more complex than you laid out and it does have some remedies.

Well...it's a good start toward looking like Atlanta.

I really like ATL's skyline - with Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead all kind-of streaming together up the spine of the city.

Me too. It’s very linear. Just need to swap the capitol and waterline so ATX has a supertall in midtown and the capitol in southeast downtown. :D

...and a couple of 500-footers and a 600-footer in West Campus (like Buckhead).

Curious about what the remedies would be. I'm not doubting you...just hoping you'll explain.

I love it simply for the fact that it doesn't have a ginormous parking podium.

clubtokyo Nov 30, 2023 2:05 AM

Yes I agree! Love the no parking podium look!

clubtokyo Nov 30, 2023 4:04 AM

Also hope it has a silver/blue glass!
