I don't know if I agree with that. Austin has about 6 or 7 projects currently underway, or about to break ground, standing 600'+ and tallest being 1,000'. According to Wikipedia, Nashville only has about 4 projects at 600'+, the tallest being 750'.

Is it not possible for both cities to be undergoing a mind boggling skyline transformation?

NO! One must always win, one must always lose. One is GREAT! One is GARBAGE!

:haha::haha::haha:

Right. This is like the fourth time the two have been compared here.

Block 185

Lighting at night. This building is nearly complete.

This is why social media and most online platforms are stupid. One can't ask a basic question without coming off as incendiary to someone. I wasn't in any way disparaging a city. I was simply asking for an objective response. This is dumb.

"You hurt my city's feelings. You said it doesn't have that many buildings being built."

Do you guys not see how dumb that sounds?

No worries on the emoji, but disregarding comparative height, no US city is adding more highrises, and getting taller, than Nashville.

I love Nashville and I certainly welcome the friendly competition (more growth for both!), but this is objectively not true. Austin is already much taller and still transforming at a greater clip than Nashville. That can’t really be argued considering the giants that are breaking ground in austin and all the infill in the east, west campus, and domain.

Again, I am not talking about height as compared to other cities. Rather, I am talking about increase height (and density) compared the existing NASHVILLE skyline.

Put another way, I assumed we were talking about which skylines will look most different, compared to what they look like now, just a few years from now. In that respect, I predict Nashville will be #1.

Okie Dokie. Back on track...

Block 16 has a new design!

Ok... I can see this argument. Thanks for qualifying your original statement. It's looking at percent growth in proportion to what currently exists VS raw numbers where Austin has more and taller buildings in development. That said there are still many cities yet that have more raw numbers being built than Austin (IE NYC, Chicago, etc.)

Can we please take this city vs. city discussion to the "City Discussion" section of this forum?

Thank you.

Same here. Have never seen a design anything like this.

shakman Apr 4, 2022 8:32 PM

Same here in addition to the exposed column patterns. Hopefully the columns will have exterior lighting features.

Has the height changed?

LAisthePlace Apr 4, 2022 10:07 PM

Nice looking building! Seems the quality of proposals in Austin is continuing to improve.

ILUVSAT Apr 5, 2022 8:26 PM

I love how Block 16's exposed columns reflect those of 98 Red River. It will look really cool.
