I'll admit i'm really enjoying watching New Yorks construction sites go up. For a long while between 2005 and 2015ish there wasn't much happening in North America like everything was happening overseas pretty much. Other than the world trade center, but that wasn't as fun to watch in a way because it was just replacing a tower that sat at the exact same height and it was taking forever to go up. If you go into the diagram section under the New world trade center you'll see a diagram by me where it just shows 2 cranes at the base of the tower and steel beams sticking up, lol I had to draw this because do you guys remember how long the new world trade center looked like this:

Oh also it's nice to see buildings taking the new height record from the world trade center already! Central Park Tower will actually be taller than the WTC:

EDIT: Oh i have a question, skyscraperpage has this buildings floor count listed at 99 floors whereas here on the forum it's 131, does anyone know why?

Its the marketing floor count. The permits will state 99 floors. Only 95 floors will be habitable. The rest are mechanical or the area above the 95th floor. Key word is area or volume aka the extra floors which is great to marekt. There is also a private observatory I believe on the top floor, before the mechanical starts.

We don't really care about what's going on overseas, at least as it relates to what's going on here in this city, which it doesn't. But this tower won't be taller than the WTC. It will have a taller roof height than the Freedom Tower, but so does 432 Park and likely the Chase tower.

All of a sudden I'm being blown away at how much that Triboro/RFK (?) vista makes the Big Four of Billionaire's row look as if their ready to be announced in to the Big Party.

53W53 and 30HY are fashionably late, I see.

But I simply cannot believe that 1V can still play "Where's Waldo?" at this point...I just can't find it. It's supposed to be near Chrysler, which in that photo I assume is doing its melding thing with ESB from this angle..

In many people's eyes roof height is often seen as more "legit". But yea it doesn't matter, what matters is that NY's skyline is simply insane

Can't wait to see this top off...

I don't care about what's in "many people's eyes" either. The reality is that isn't the way buildings are measured, they're measured to architectural tip. We all know that. Some people sometimes attribute the height to the pinnacle, which as you know includes antennas (another sub-category).

But

RE #1 of the last set: Mere words suck...............

Riverside Center really adds to that dynamic. A lot of infill in that general area (near Con-ED or to the left of the 1st pic in that set)

The REAL (1 floor = 1 roof) number of floors of the tower is 103 (99 floors + 4 intermediate floors). The 4 intermediate floors are: 1 is at ground level, 2 are at 10° level and 1 is at 67° floor. These are true floors. The 10° level, for example, can be considered 100% to have 3 floors. In fact it has 3 elevator stops. And the 67° level with the intermediate level has 2 elevator stops. The total number of the floors serviced by the elevators is 100 (3 floors haven't an acccess to the elevators). The REAL number of habitable floors is 85.
