I guess I should make it clear that my original post about not letting Austin have the tallest building was somewhat facetious. But not totally facetious. In all honestly, I’d prefer to see Houston defend its title. At the same time, I lived in Austin for a short time in the late seventies and it’s fascinating to see the changes. As long as it doesn’t get too uppity. ;)

Just glad to see this thread active again. :)

No worries. My apologies. There is a lot of city-v-city malcontent going on and I misunderstood your intent having only typed words to go by. I now see that it was benign.
Again, my apologies. With regard to Wells Fargo Tower - if said project were to ever get off the ground, don't you think it may be difficult to find windows to match the current curtain wall of the tower? |

This one should break ground very soon.

I like this one! It’s clean looking.

The fact that Austin is even part of a city vs. city dialogue with Houston about who might have the tallest building in Texas says a lot. :)

Block 71, 542ft. You were saying Austin has no “commerce” towers and that we only have residential and mixed use. Yeah the new tallest will not be all office, but we for sure have plenty of new office towers and we are a tiny little brother to Houston. Austin is doing great for its size. So what exactly are we trying to compare here??
