Is that a diagram of part of the skyline or are these buildings to be built soon?

Both. It's a model of the lower part of downtown along the river.

Of the 36 high rises in that model (buildings over 115 feet), 3 are under construction, 2 in site prep, 2 proposed. The other 29 buildings are built.

Wow, it's like Austin's skyline just keeps growing and growing. I'm anticipating what the final result will look like!

That model is missing:

-Tower 5c (634')
-Hyatt Centric's The Avenue (348')
-311 W. 7th (~40 stories)

Oh, is 4th & Colorado - "The Molar" (356') tucked in there???

**Does anyone know where that model is? And, could someone take multiple angle photos of it?

Page office, most likely.

That would be awesome if they were relocating to that building, we’ll see!

Instead of updating multiple threads with the same info, here's a link to the first 2020 list of Austin's tallest projects.

An 11-story apartment building was imploded this morning to make way for a taller apartment building. The site actually had two 11-story apartment buildings on it, but the second building will be demo'ed by conventional means.

You guys and gals are soon going to have the best skyline in Texas-especially with the local scenery-the river, hills and woods. Nice update.

Well, now I know what the noise was that woke me up this morning. I live about 5 miles north of the university but it was so loud that I thought a major disaster had occurred close by. I heard the bangs and then there was the rumble that rattled my windows. We were talking here on my block this afternoon about it and everyone said they were startled, and kept thinking we would soon hear sirens, but of course we didn't.

thanks for the nice pics.

Yes, nice catch. I never changed it back after the approved elevations were released. That'll be fixed on the next update.

EDIT: I went ahead and fixed it already.

You should hang out in the Austin subforum more often to stay on top of such things. :)

I do check from time to time, but definitely missed this.

The Best Forumer Jan 7, 2020 5:33 PM

yeah me too.

The ATX Jan 7, 2020 8:22 PM

Here's a much better video of the implosion that shows multiple angles. There were actually three 11-story buildings and two of them were imploded.
