May be. Not definitely. But still messed up, but this is what happens when provincial governments don't fund schools and close them down to build mega schools.

Taken July 13. You can see the cladding on the units on the furthest end of the project. They're just chugging along day by day... yay. Oh yeah, this is Belle'ville. |

Does anyone have insider information as to what is being eventually going to be built on the lot where the Petro Canada station used to stand at the corner of Fiddler's Green and Wilson St? It is quite an active work site - I'm assuming they are remediating the site to prep for future construction. The city's interactive development application map says storage - but for heaven's sake - on such a prime corner!? Please somebody tell me that there is something better envisioned!

Hamilton Drive from the Wilson St. traffic circle to Garner Rd., has been traffic-calmed with speed bumps every 200 or so metres.
Also, regarding Hamilton Dr. 387-409: something went to Planning Commision, and I watched a portion of the recording where a variance or something to the bylaw was presented, and then a couple of people from the publice were given a chance to present their views. So it looks like the plan to hook Braithwaite Ave. to Hamlton Drive is moving forward with 17 new detached homes planned to be built along the newly extended street. Plus there is someothing coming up on July 17 to sever some of the land, perhaps to keep it wooded and designated as (P5zoning)? Also a stormwater pond is envisioned. And the two women who spoke, spoke of big trees, protecting biodiversity, protecting endagered bats and butternut trees. Councilmember Cassar also asked some questions, sounding like 17 houses are too much. |
