That could be either a reference to your home province, or a reference to London being the end of the world.

Yep, great point, which I almost mentioned already but didn't.

Another example would be someone living in remote far north Manitoba. That's way more "The North" than "The Prairies".

Similarly, my gf's family (pure Anglos with deep roots in a sea-oriented town on the shores of the Gulf of St. Lawrence) should probably answer "Maritimes" rather than "Quebec". (If the goal is to get some sort of cultural sample.)

Most of Manitoba isn't the Prairies, not just the far north. I would think that the Canadian Shield is by far the largest region, followed by what we'd generally call the Prairies (which could be subdivided into several regions) and then by the Hudson's Bay Lowlands.

Ontario: I've lived in London - too young to appreciate it, in the middle of nowhere dirt roads near Wingham - I still like this town and the farms around it, Mississauga - gross , Toronto - I consider it home and Waterloo - pretty boring but it's the best suburb in Ontario.

Every city has it's plusses and minuses.

I doubt that I will return to PEI in retirement (coming up in 2-4 years). I'm comfortable in Moncton. If i was to move in retirement, I could see returning to Halifax but other possibilities include Ottawa, Kingston, Stratford, the Okanagan or possibly Vancouver Island.

A lot depends on where my sons end up living. One is set up here in Moncton. The other two are still in university, in programs which make it unlikely that they will be living here. It is possible I might choose a retirement location nearby one of them.

i used to live there,than moved when I was 18 down to the LM and have lived here most of my life now. Anyway when I was working in Alberta I used to use Ft St JKohn to fly in and out of to get to work. Its a crappy town but the area is actually quote pretty.
