Could you imagine how much the JHC and Sears Tower would have stuck out in chicagos skyline when they were first completed? I mean there were hardly any towers over 500 ft in the city at that time let alone ones that were over 1450 ft tall. They must have looked incredible, even more so than they do today. Like two steel giants rising above the Earth. I would love to see some photos of the two and how they looked in the skyline during the mid 70s or so.

^JHC would have been especially visionary at the time
I moved here in 1976 and remember as a kid being on the eisenhower expressway coming in from the west and sears seemed like the only building you'd see for about 20 minutes |

Some of them would have made great construction threads.

^ Can you imagine? Sears and JHC would have been interesting watching go up with their unique shapes. And can you imagine watching the Chrysler Building as they jacked up its spire? The CN Tower and Transamerica Pyramid would have been cool to watch too.

Here are a couple of the CN Tower under construction...

Indeed, more than any other single event/structure/etc., the CN Tower firmly established Toronto on the International Map.
