Incredible updates. Boy, I hope they allow their tenants to freely roam around a few levels of the crown. What an amenity that would be, yet so expensive to construct for little to no rentable space.

Somehow all the new towers make One57 look better, imo. It kind of stuck out like a sore thumb at first, but with other towers it looks better in the skyline.

This is my favourite building on billionaire's row. I like how they have that classy gold on the side.

Love the details, NYGuy.

Yeah, this is a real special one. They put a lot of care and quality into it.

Hopefully they'll install a public mat outside this building so we all have a designated place to worship it.

CTBUH lists this as structurally topped out. Although I thought the architectural element/crown would also be considered as part of the structure and once complete, it would be deemed structurally topped out.
|
Has it reached 400m?

Structurally Topped Out The building is under construction and the highest primary structural element is in place. Architecturally Topped Out The building is under construction and has reached its full height both structurally and architecturally (e.g., including its spires, parapets, etc.). |

Interesting NYT article about Manhattan's changing skyline. Even more telling are many of the reader comments, which are critical of the new luxury condos and their impact (or lack thereof) on the city. Now before you take a bird on these, read them with an open mind: There are always two sides to every story.

That article was posted before, but as for as the comments, it's exactly as expected, nothing telling or surprising about it at all there. Luxury will ALWAYS be a part of New York City. People will always resent that. Nothing changes. |
