Thanks...Yeah just kind of anxiously waiting for it to start.

White Lodging doesn't update their website much, and they still have Summer 2016 as the opening for the hotel(s). We know that's impossible because of the approval delays, but Starwood has updated their site with a June 2017 opening.
Any updates from the downtown walkers out there? (I'm a downtown driver, and don't notice some of the projects.) http://www.starwoodhotels.com/corpor...ortType=region |
After looking through the elevations (page 20, for example) this looks to be 31-stories and ~328'. Floor 32 is mechanical.

Walked past yesterday. No activity and the parking lot is still open.

That crane plan does not show an entrance for a parking garage? Do they not have to have one?
|
No. There is no onsite parking associated with this development.
|
Looks like demolition and site development may begin next week! About time, right?!?
|
Looking forward to this one. Congress needs some vertical love.
|
Woo hooo! I can't wait to see dirt turn for this baby! I'd like to see Congress totally lined with slender mixed-use towers someday.

The height should be adjusted in the title of this thread. The final release of the site plan has this as 31 floors (+ 1 mechanical) and 328' (327' 10"). The 35-stories was from the original renderings. Articles refer to this as 32-stories (and the Fairmont as 37-stories instead of the correct 36) because they don't take into count that there are no floors numbered as 13 in hotels. See the elevation on page 20 for the height:

We have fencing around the site now.

Really glad that this one got approval from the previous city council.
|
I suspect this one will fly up since there's zero parking.
AHHH, say it with me: Z E R O P A R K I N G :P |
