ah yes . . Righto . . blue window film . .
don't know why I was so clueless . . a good thing then . . and of some solace . . knowing that this tallest building, could've actually been even worse . . though more distinctive . . |
Big fan of this tower. It definitely is not as "elegant" as some of its neighbors but its brut force in the skyline will be awesome. Plus the cantilever is great. An offset spire would be a nice addition though but not complaining. Any city in the world would be proud to have a project like this going on. Exciting stuff happening in NYC.

"Any" city probably would, but there's so much going on in New York, we asks that our "tallest" give us a little more effort. As I've said, this building would be perfectly fine anywhere else. On the Manhattan skyline, it's begrudgingly acceptable at best. But maybe Gary Barnett has another trick up his sleeve to make up for this one. I agree that it's exciting times though. Lots of major additions going up. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bk5GaQ_g...en-by=dcblake1 https://scontent-sea1-1.cdninstagram...MzA1Nw%3D%3D.2 https://www.instagram.com/p/Bk5I3Syj...hetravelbuglet https://scontent-sea1-1.cdninstagram...MTk0MQ%3D%3D.2 |
:previous: That’s the Central Park skyline transformed. :)

Birth of new canopy yaaayyy

Minus the cheating spire atop of 1 WTC, Central Park Tower will be the tallest building in the city! :)

:goodpost: Great shots, NYguy; you can really appreciate how much this tower will contribute to NYC. ;)
Below all of that netting, we see the glass fascade climb upwards. |
When did they hand that Tectonic sign?;)

I love the photo showing Queens in post #5508. Queens is a very underrated borough. My 2nd favorite one, morose than Brooklyn. Manhattan being first.
Queens is where you can really get some of the most jaw-dropping perspectives of the city along with the melting-pot effect. We all like to think Manhattan, but Queens is a treasure cove of ethnic enclaves of all types, a real urban and cultural destination. From certain avenues, towers like 432 Park and CPT shine from a distance. |

I look forward to the day when Central Park Tower grabs the skyline spotlight like 432 Park & Hudson Yards does. :fingerscrossed:

:previous: Do you think it will be topped out by Christmas?
|
in the Western part of Central Park, looking South . .
CPT will probably look like the much taller, cheaper back-wing section of the richly articulated, & importantly limestoned, 220 CPS . . |

Several of my fav renders:

This building is awesome (and massive) either way but I hope Gary pulls out the spire last minute, I also hope that spire is 1800+ feet :)
Tallest building sounds cooler than tallest residential building (in NYC/Outside of Asia/Western hemisphere that is...) |
:previous: It could happen! :fingerscrossed:

Incredible building and perfect for that area

^How on earth did you get everyone to move off the lawn for this beautiful shot? Or were they all up in the Hamptons yesterday?:cheers:

^ It's nothing.
I still say this tower would have been better with the spire. Wow. How much the above view from the Park has changed in the last 5 years even.
|
The spire would have been real bad because it would have maybe been taller than 1776 feet which is blasphemous because freedom. Also, life is precious and god and the bible and other stuff.
|
Believe me when I tell you that very few people anywhere--never mind in this particular forum--really get all bent out of shape over things like that.
But yeah...Somehow I get the feeling that we're in for a bit of a surprise come when the upper floors approach completion. |
